    Cleaning Meter Box/Function Decals

I only wipe them off. There's no reason to get the components any wetter than necessary by spraying them with water.

    D&S IQ Self-Serve Equipment

I didn't install it, but I've worked on it several times after the installer quit trying to fix it. He spent the first three months working on something at least twice a week, had to completely redo several parts of the plumbing, replace all the low-pressure regulators, all the tubing fittings...

Husky vs Harbor Freight small compressor comparison

I've been trying to talk one guy out of buying the oil-less things since 2005. He buys one about once a year and usually pays over $500. I don't get it, between the cost, the short life, and the noise, why wouldn't you try something made to last a while? I even offered to get it and set it up...

    Mixed denomination Bill Counter

I would be concerned that they'd also discontinue repair parts.

Husky vs Harbor Freight small compressor comparison

About four months ago I put compressors in two different washes, one wanted the cheapest decent thing available (Used the Central Pneumatic there), the other wanted something to last but didn't want a full sized unit (Chose the Husky). I thought this might be a good opportunity for a...

    Foam generator media problem

I cut disks like that out of the side of a pail with a 1 1/2" hole saw. I add a few 1/4" holes to them, and cut a 1/2" thick piece of PVC. When I assemble the foamer I glue in the sliver of pipe, drop in the disk and glue the rest of the pipe in. It leaves a chamber for foam to flow out and...

    Chemical Costs

My chemical costs are under 2%. I mix products that work really well together, for example my tire cleaner is a liquid that by itself is mediocre and a powder that has no show, but together it looks really good and works really well.

    Crytopay

No, the hotspot works fine. 1 GB of data will never get used up in a month.

    D&S IQ Self-Serve Equipment

Don't do it. It's very poorly engineered, it's extremely difficult to service anything, the parts they use are not reliable and very expensive, the sustem is not efficient with chemicals, and other than a little space saved there's no advantage to any of it.

    Hamilton Goldline

Hopper timeout error means the hopper is the problem. It's possible a controller or harness issue is keeping the hopper signal from reaching the hopper, but swapping the hopper is the easiest, fastest thing to try.

It's not a payout I've seen, it's a hopper timeout. Did you not get any kind of manual with the controller upgrade?

    Detailing advice

IMO you should start by getting set up and have guys trained and ready. I've just been helping someone set up a hand wash bay at a self-serve, and he had his plan of operation in place first, prices second based on how long the job would take.

    12 Position 3 Stack Rotary

As the switches get more complicated with more selections, the engineering and manufacture of parts gets more complicated. The parts inside need to be smaller and still be just as rugged. On top of that, companies like Electroswitch base unit prices on manufacturing runs. I used to work for a...

    New island machine options

Other than tire air, there really isn't anything new to add. I'd suggest taking another look at the equipment you have and make sure everything is working 100%. FWIW, I've been reworking some old machines that haven't worked in years, one of which is a Fragramatics shampo/spot remover vac. It...

    12 Position 3 Stack Rotary

I've taken apart Electroswitch 10-position switches, and they have a piece of key stock that runs through and turns everything together. If it's worn and loose, maybe it's some sort of fiber material? You can buy steel keystock cheap and replace it.

    Hamilton Goldline

That $6.75 payout sounds like the right amount the hopper motor will run and time out if the controller isn't getting the coin pulses while it dispenses coins. I've seen that exact thing happen before. Sounds like someone new at Hamilton doesn't know how to guide you, or this new controller is...

    12 Position 3 Stack Rotary

Shallco switches tend to get really loose after only a year or two. Some of mine are so bad they're almost off a full position. Electroswitch are much better.

    Micro Coin QL

Some timers (Dixmor LED-7 for one) lets you set the coin pulse value, so you'd have to program the acceptor for five pulses for a quarter and the timer for a value of $.05 per pulse. I wouldn't want to deal with all that small change. I've been removing the coin cups because customers fill the...

What is a fair price for a used laurel 24 item vending machine?

I think that's a new record for a thread bump, a full twelve years plus some weeks.
