How often do you guys change your pump oil?

    Whatever is cheapest.

    Power out AGAIN

I would think so too, a surveillance DVR, an alarm, a Weep Mizer and a solenoid all together would be about 100 watts. A couple of 6 amp solar panels, a deep cycle battery and a power inverter to run all those things full-time would cost $500-600.

How often do you guys change your pump oil?

An old mechanic told me about it years ago for removing water from a car engine. I tried it on a General pump that had been shooting water out the dipstick/breather and after just a couple changes it was clean. After my truck's intake manifold let go, I changed the oil with the mix every day...

How often do you guys change your pump oil?

You shouldn't get any buildup from non-detergent oil. FWIW though, I use either Cat oil or a mix of three parts ND-30WT and one part transmission fluid (I always use it in General pumps since they're the most prone to failure that lets water into the crankcase). I started using that mix in...

Does anyone know what it is in the rims? Thank you!

I'm going out on a limb to say you're probably using a wheel cleaner that's leeching under the clear coat. I'm guessing that because the upper spot of corrosion on the rim has a spot on the logo cap next to it. Again, only guessing, but maybe wheel cleaner is getting behind the cap and getting...

How often do you guys change your pump oil?

I'm assuming you mean when you have a leak do you change them all. Myself, no, if a piston oil seal leaks I change all three, if a shaft seal leaks I only change that one unless I have to tear the pump down to change it, then I change them all.

    Cryptopay forcing switch

Not with the same low-cost hardware. I think the closest is Nayax.

How often do you guys change your pump oil?

I change the pump oil about once a year, compressor about every six months. A lot of people never change their oil. How often should you change yours? At the manufacturer's recommended interval.

Any SS washes closed at night?

I know of one operator who shuts his down at night, not sure of the time but it's gated and all lights out all night. He's in one of the worst areas in town. I might consider shutting down at night, but I feel like I'd want the entire wash fenced off.

What sign sizes and layouts have worked well at your car wash?

In my experience it's selective depending on the customer's needs. Some read the entire menu sign if they aren't familiar with self serves, some read the instructions on the shampooer. None of them read the "No truck bed washing" right on the meter door, or so they say. I've had customers say...

    Flojet stall

https://car-wash.kleen-ritecorp.com/search?w=mac%20valve If you use one for your Flojet controls, I would recommend 120V since you can just plug it in and not have a separate transformer to worry about. I prefer to use a separate wall plug for each system so you can unplug just the one I'm...

    FloJet Question

Yes, and those multiplexers were made by Specialty Equipment Manufacturers, which has gone out of business. I have the part number for the Omron relay in it, but the unit itself isn't available. Car Wash Resources is also out of business.

    FloJet Question

I would recommend the GinSan version over the IDX MX-8. It's nice to have the delay, but it's not really that big a deal. I've worked on a wash that had seven or eight IDX units, and after five years half of them had gone bad where the output would randomly not work. The GinSan GS-16D is a...

Water damage to IBA control box

Is it possible the water ran down the wires into the VFD? Maybe backtrack those wires and see if there's any chance it could have come in that route. It may not help your case, but you certainly don't want it to happen again. I've seen some severe issues caused by installs by licensed...

    FloJet Question

Zoro has them cheaper than Mouser, and there's a 20% code good thru Oct., SITEWIDEDM that makes them less than $9 each relay and base pair. https://www.zoro.com/omron-gen-purpose-relay-5-pin-square-24vac-g2r-1-s-ac24s/i/G3255016/...

    Flojet stall

I have no real trouble with Flojets. They're all dead-headed and last five to seven years. FWIW I'd rather have a Flojet where the only problem you can have with it is the Flojet than have a Procon where the pump, the motor, the controller, the breaker, or sometimes just randomly the fuse (on...

    Vac Island trash can covers

I was planning to make something like that out of signboard and put a teepee with mat clamps on top of it, with a small hole in the sides of the teepee to prevent things like whole bags of concrete/mortar/drywall mud or leftover tile/flooring/construction lumber etc. from being literally thrown...

    Flojet stall

Three-way solenoids are expensive. You can accomplish the same thing by adding a tee to the air supply to the Flojet and putting the smallest Hydrominder tip in it to always bleed some air after the supply solenoid.

Stopping Brush/Wand Theft - This Product Work ?

That would still be easier to cut than steel braided hose, but I like the idea. You could crimp a loop around a washer on each end, one under the brush head and the other through a 1/2" fitting. It would also help prevent someone from unscrewing the brush and handle from the hose and stealing it.
