    dog wash and ice/water machine?

We have recieved notices about water quality issues from the water department serving one of our locations. It has always tasted bad, but never occured to me that a water machine at the wash might be in demand. Any reccommendations on brand? there is a huge Ice machine vendor in town, so I would...

    buying hose for bay

If it after a fraction, like 3/8 MPE I would think it would be Male Pipe end and the MSE would be Male swivel end. the swivel is normally a non working swivel that simply allows you to thread to the fitting without having to be rotating the hose if you are not connecting to a swivel.

Low Pressure Pump ( Grundfoss) pump issue D&S 5000

On the Automatic, it pumps the presoak at low pressure while the car enters and through the gantry on the presoak passes through as many as 12 nozzels at a time.

Low Pressure Pump ( Grundfoss) pump issue D&S 5000

Thanks Randy that pump has the correct D&S part number but looks different than the one in my 2000 model machine so I'm not confident that the seal kit will interchange. My pump runs and pumps, just sprays out at where the pump body mates to the casting that attaches to the motor. I'd be...

Low Pressure Pump ( Grundfoss) pump issue D&S 5000

Last night wife asks if there should be foamy water on the floor of the equipment room.... turns out my low pressure presoak pump is leaking where pump and motor meet. Guessing its the pump shaft seal but neglected to ID the model of the pump while I was at the wash, only ID i could see was...

    Cryptopay is TRASH

What is their charge back fee? Most of my complaints are on my IBA, which has token note capability. So far I have been lucky to avoid charge backs by sending more token notes than they claim to have lost.

Dema float valve 437N keeps failing

Ive had some problems with one similar dema valve. would randomly stay on and mix tire cleaner until it ran out the back door (this wash has no floor drain). Would do it about once every week or two. Played with it a few times, decided to replace the whole thing. I noticed it was a little off...

New owner of self serve car wash

I have talked with Gary at Custom Craft in little rock in the past, and while we have not done any business to this point, he made an impression that if I needed a local distributor, he would be one I might call. I know they did some work at our second location for its previous owner over the...

New owner of self serve car wash

What part of Arkansas. there are some resources available. I personally have done all my own work so far so cant recommend anyone based on my own experience, but over the last 3 years since my wife and got our first wash, I've made some contacts in different parts of the state.

Why would our Air compressor keep tripping breaker

Mine was doing this a while back, replaced the contactor, breaker, tightened wires. ended up installing a portable back up compressor with the pressure switch set to come on just a little lower than the main so if the main didn't come on, the backup would and keep the wash running. I only get...

Self Serve - Breaker in control box getting stuck

If turning off the breaker releases the contactor than I would bet on the coil staying energized (see above timers, switches, etc hints). If the contactor releases (you see the bar in the middle pop back out) then sadly, a new contactor may not fix it.

    Lock for equipment room

My first thought is a remote control gun, but that would cause more hassel, but a remote dump of a can of red paint or pit mud would be at least some solace if someone is messing around , give them a mess to deal with!

running 3 bays on 3/4" water service

not sure when it was actually built, but I think the 3rd bay was added in 1989, at least there was some concrete work done and some names and a 1989 date inscribed therein. The guy had built and owned several car washes locally. I think he owned my other wash at some time too. I have no idea...

running 3 bays on 3/4" water service

Thanks everyone for your insight. This was was originally built as a 2 bay and the third was added at a later date. I;m guessing the 3/4" line was plenty for 2 bays and is obviously marginal at best for 3. I found PVC feeding the cut off valve where it changed to the copper that went under the...

running 3 bays on 3/4" water service

Thanks Good points! No wye strainer. citi dug up the meter to look for a pressure regulator and said the problem was a leak. I think I'll call the city back out to see if they have flow at the meter. I have a hose bib just inside the equipment room and even there the pressure drops as soon as I...

running 3 bays on 3/4" water service

have noticed some discharge out of the RPZ which I assume is due to the pressure drop and may indicate the drop is ahead of the supply side of the RPZ?

running 3 bays on 3/4" water service

Have a 3 bay SS with 3/4" service. A customer stopped me about a month ago and said he and another customer were using the wash just fine. Then a third pulled in and when they were all washing, all 3 bays lost water pressure. I have a pressure gage on the hot water to my supply tank feed that...
