How far away do you consider competition

I’ve always said that rural people speak in miles, and metro people in minutes.

Think a little bit...from a shipwreck. I can't be there to figure everything out for you, you've got to do some of this on your own.

How far away do you consider competition

That's hard to say. Geography and demographics play into it greatly. I had an express open less than a mile down the same road from my 7&3. The town population about 11K, with three other autos and 7 more SS bays. My wash was well kept and established, and they were hardly a blip on my radar...

    Fresh n vac

This vacuum probably had a simple problem to begin with. With things being disconnected, and most likely something hooked up wrong, it is going to be tough to diagnose without being hands-on.

    Fresh n vac

Greg wasn't being a smart aleck. That part is called a hose barb. It is an oddball one as well. It looks like it may be 90 degree as well, on top of being tiny. Most likely, no one but Coleman will have it in stock.

    Fresh n vac

I agree that he needs to get someone else to fix that for him. How can you tell that there are no wires on the top terminals? I assumed they were hidden by that wire bundle.

It's the funny looking black thing below the breaker.

    Fresh n vac

The coil on the mercury relay isn't hooked up. If the vac runs in this state, the relay pretty much has to be stuck closed. I guess some wires beyond the relay could be melted together, but that should be obvious. Remove one of the wires from the top of the relay and see if it shuts off. If it...

    Narrow bay IBA

I owned Dakota's machine for the first two years of its life. It was the most reliable piece of equipment I think I ever owned. I think the only breakdown I had in those two years was the emergency stop switch. I found the switch on Zoro for $14.

People try to break my padlocks for vaccum

Ls, you have so little info in your profile, I'm having trouble verifying you are legit. We don't like giving out info publicly on how to remove these locks. Does anyone know this guy?

Electric Doors - Poly or Vinyl?

I agree that wind can be an issue. I had a couple that were 12' wide. They would sometimes bow enough to come out of the track. I also had three 10' doors...hardly any wind issues. The reset feature working in the wind...forget it. The reset feature is a convention floor selling point, but not...

    Direct injection System ??

I ran 7 bays off of one Flojet. Never an issue.

A man with a brain and a stick

At one time, we had a liquor store. In our area it wasn't actually legal, but it was customary for people to actually loaf and drink beer in the store, just as in a bar. Of course, I got quite an education from the same bunch of guys every day. I was always pretty good at math. There was this...

    Changing Vacuum bags

Don't clean them. Most of my vacs were like that. They are somewhat self shaking, in that they collapse while running and drop down when the vac shuts off. When I cleaned out my vacs, I would reach up in there and smack them around, but as far as removing the bags and laundering them...didn't...

Thanks for the advice guys, I got it fixed yesterday. As I've always said, "What good are friends, if you can't use them?"

Which Self Serve Equipment is the Best ?

Seriously though, when would we ever need to replace SS equipment if the original is stainless steel? I will add that I actually did replace mine at one wash. The stands were not stainless and had rusted to the point that they were falling over. That was in 2012. I replaced it with pump stands...

What kind of faucet do I have?

I started a thread over there and got an ID. It's apparently a Price Pfister OX8. I found parts at Home Depot, just haven't installed it yet.
