Gotta agree...Thanks, 2Biz for starting this thread. It got me off dead center and pushed me to fix a few flaws in my system. Even though it did cost a bit to update, I'm using considerably less "secret sauce" so it's eventually gonna pay for itself.
The only problem with custom PLC/PLR...
When I bought my wash (in 1994), it was $1.25 to start. Within an hour of closing the sale, it was $1.50 to start.
Huh...only took twenty years to get it to $3/3minutes! I'm pretty sure my expenses have more than doubled since 1994.?!.
I recently purchased a Sam's Club online Q-See 16 channel system to replace my 'bricked' DVR. The new cameras connected to the existing cabling so, the installation was quite simple. Nice system with lots of features... especially when compared to the "antique" 10 year old system it replaced...
Couple of ways to test my theory:
#1. Swap the liquid lines from the culprit bay with the adjacent bay. Close those 2 bays overnight. Next morning check to see if the problem moved. Bad thing is, you're gonna have to thaw the bay...again!
#2. Raise the set point of the controller to 70...
OK,
So, the normally Open Dema solenoid is likely not closing fully (like I've never seen THAT happen) when the system switches to winter foam.
This would allow "contamination" of the winter foam diluting the freeze protection. Meaning you're likely getting a weaker than desired protection...
Well...I dunno. Every "system" is a bit different. Some are totally manual. Some use air-blow out. Some inject anti-freeze. Some blow out and inject. Some are add-on...some are integrated. Some are factory built...some are "tinkerer" built.
Maybe you could give a little insight as to how...
Maybe the "summer soap" is freezing in the trough before your system purges.
Try changing the purge set point to 40 degrees for testing purposes. If THAT works, then gradually lower the set point until it doesn't.
"We've ALWAYS done it that way."
"The boss said to do it like that."
"This is the first time I've ever installed one of these."
"Installation manual? What installation manual?"
Yep...no worries. It'll probably only last 1/2 as long as a SS valve, so...5 years?
So, this is being fed with warm water? Have you noticed soap suds in your rinse water tank? Does the rinse water tank overflow overnight?
If yes, then your entire water supply could be "contaminated" with...
Do you have a manual shut-off valve on the weep system that you close during warm months? If yes, than I'd be looking for a leaky high pressure check valve for that bay's weep inlet.

FixALeak would likely clog your Spirovent. Luckily, it can be disassembled and capped while the "stuff" sets up. But, that's just for future reference since you'll likely never need a treatment.
BTW...FixALeak is not a permanent solution...but, it sure extends the time until you have to...
Us old timers know what that is...it's a "Robo Wash"!
And it's more like 55 years old!
They were really big at "service stations"...remember those?

1. Performing the roadside "heal and toe" is difficult enough...especially with a pocket full of quarters assisting your imbalance.
2. Trying to convince the Deputy that the wads of $20s in your car is NOT drug money...(especially here in cannabis country)
3. Remembering "Righty tighty -...
$10 per bag!!!??? They probably have your dosage set to 24 lbs per cubic foot, too! Criminals.
I used the cheapest “Solar Salt” I could find for 10 years. I could see that the salt was dirty and that the brine always looked like the puddle on my driveway. But for $2.50/50lb bag, who cares what...
