    Airlift Door Question

Good to know as I intend to add a door to my IBA before next winter. Ordered old style motor just in case. Hope there are no regrets.

    Airlift Door Question

It has a weather tight cover over the electronics and HMWPE panels as an enclosure which protects but allows it to breathe. I guess there have been problems with the motor shaft enclosure holding moisture and causing rust at shaft bearing. Didn't appear to be happening with mine.

    Invoicing Software

I don't have that many accounts and use MS Excel for invoicing which can be sent via email or USPS. Quickbooks has this feature with online payment options also - no experience with it , so can't comment other than it looks useful.

    Airlift Door Question

I have been using an Airlift XRS for 4-5 yrs. It's been great and have not had a problem until now. Could be motor related. Mine is the "old style" circuit board type. They now use a VFD driven motor. Tech service says some of the old motors have needed to be replaced. Has anyone had to...

What are you using for hoses in the bay? The inside of the metal ends could be corroded and interfering with flow.

    G&G LED Lights - Feedback?

http://www.e-conolight.com/outdoor-lighting/canopy/e-cc5l03nw.html I've used these as both ceiling and wall mounts. They may lack the "cool" factor, but the light is bright & more than adequate, especially considering how much washing actually occurs after dark. Why spend big bucks for what is...

    Minimum wage

$15/hr is pretty steep. As an employer, are better applicants coming through the door as a result of higher wage? Is this hurting the high schoolers in the job market for the first time with no real skills or track record?

    Wobble Head and VacLitz

I have given up on VacLitz - the light mechanism didn't last long enough to be of value to anyone and the angle of the claw makes them prone to plugging up.

Newbie, dealing with snow and ice

I agree, doors are absolutely necessary! They will lower your floor heating costs, make the bays much more reliable, comfortable and welcoming to the customer and increase revenues. We had no doors our first year and it was a constant battle with the elements.

    Disgusting fees for vending machine

That doesn't sound worthwhile to me. If there's an ATM close by, I would eliminate cc acceptance for vending. MC

    IBA Freestanding Dryer Recommendation

I have a Laser 4000, need to replace existing dryer and am curious what others are using. I am familiar with the PDQ MaxAir and am leaning that way unless there's a compelling reason not to. Existing dryer no longer made, so that's not an option. Thoughts?? Thanks. Mc

    Air lift XRS doors

I replaced a ClearFold Door three years ago and haven't spent a dime on kero since. Also happy to report zero problems. Go for it! MC

    Building an air machine.

Just curious what kind of income is generated from vending air? My guess is not enough to justify purchasing and maintaining a $2k unit; $500 is a bargain but still an expense. We eliminated the coin box several years ago and use free air as a promo. Some days it may get 20 visits. I don't...

    2nd issue arrived

I, too, was excited to see the second issue in my mailbox and will give it a good read this weekend when the rain arrives. While Chicago wasn't the most dynamic show that I've been to, I did come away with a lot of good information and contacts, mostly form the non vendor run seminars...

    new to the forum

Welcome, John! There's a lot of knowledge shared on this site that will no doubt save you time, $$, headaches and hopefully provide helpful insights as to how other operators approach things. I would also recommend attending the ICA and/or regional shows. As you well know, there's always...

    Charging for Change

Is the cost of running coin changers really more expensive than credit card fees? Dollar coins make life simple except now that the Presidents have all been released they are no longer purely gold in color so we spend time sorting so as not to confuse the customer with the old silver dollars...

    Counting Quarters, how?

Time to change banks! I used to roll for deposit and learned that the teller had to unroll into $1k bags. Now they supply plastic bags and take them in bulk, no charge. Soon going to dollar coins so hauling quarters should be minimal. MC
