We have wasted over $6,000 on 2 American changer ac8001’s in the past year trying to get them to consistently take cards. Since lenny left the company has went to nothing. My advice would be to replace with a standard changer GXP or Hamilton as soon as possible.
I 2nd American Garage door. That’s where I have purchased our last 2 tube heaters. We source our doors locally but I have always ordered the air cylinders from American.
Washgear is also a good option. We now have it at 4 sites and all of our acw’s have been converted from dial up to this. I like being able to do in house fleet and gift and refund to customers cards right from our office computer with Washgear’s software.
Worldpay is a horrible company. We used to have them for a corporate Restraunt chain. When they merged with vantiv it was going to cost $250 per register to continue processing with them. A huge expense for 64 locations with 4 terminals each. Worldpay refused to pay for this and then shut off...
I would swap the modem from another one of the machines to rule that out. We had similar issues with our American changers before taking them out. You should consider converting them to Washgear or Cryptopay.
Update:
Me along with other Saber owners have battled a “red light” issue for nearly five years. Belanger made a PLC patch to the issue but it would still take 1-2 minutes to reset when it happened. If there is a line, a lot can happen in that amount of time. Our machine was resetting from this...
Are there any other custom token manufacturers other than Van Brook? I doubt Hoffman mint would be much better since the joined the American Changer brand. We have been waiting on tokens for over 2 months now. They claim they still don’t have the metal to make the tokens. We use these tokens at...
We don’t have a one arm Kondor but one 2 arm saber, one 2 arm kondor, and 2 freestylers. The touchless units just don’t have a lot go wrong with them. Most of the parts are interchangeable. I would stock some entrance/exit proxes, and smaller butterfly proxes/cables. An extra sonar wouldn’t be a...
Mark 7 softwash xt will fit with narrow bay option. The one we have has been very reliable and is reset and serviced less than our freestylers. I would say IB would also speak highly of it. That being said there haven’t been any problems with our freestylers that we can’t fix and we have had to...
I have Washgear on 4 ACW 5’s. They work well and I have no intentions of upgrading them.
I would like to add crytopay tap. I understand I would need a crytopay swiper and tap unit to do this. I want to still use Washgear for credit card transactions. I could just nest the cryptopay swiper...
Yes. I was told they will continue to make parts for 10 years. After that most parts are the same as kondor / freestyler so I really don’t see it being and issue in the near future.
We just had almost the exact same issue on our kondor that uses the same dema. One of the other solenoids were bad and causing water to go through it when the wax application was on. Pull all the hoses and be sure no other solenoids are leaking. When the dema asco is energized.
Did you figure anything out on this? We are basically unable to process cards still. Spent 2 hours on phone with American today. We have replaced card readers and verified internet is working. Also took IP to another location and it works so I don’t think it’s a processor issue.
Mark VII gt700 getting C00 codes during wash. Impeaded Gantry Travel.
Driver side motor and gearbox was making a grinding noise and were replaced.
All bearings seem ok.
If you job machine to back of bay and push and hold reset it moves about 3ft and stops. Stops at the exact same distance...
We have the exact same issues. Right now they aren’t taking credit cards at all. Hoping it’s something to do with the Nashville explosion. We are going to probably replace the paystations. Tired of throwing money at them.
