Noobie looking for advice on buying an existing car wash

MEP Just like Texas, Florida has areas where car washes do well and some not so much. Be careful of making blanket statements about someone else’s state for you may end up with a dose of “foot in mouth disease”.

    dynawash express

I am assuming you are talking about the ACE Inverter that controls the gantry. I’ve got a copy of A-OK’s recommended settings. Send me an e-mail address and I’ll make you a copy.

Cat 3535, water in crankcase -what to service first?

My one and only 3535 experience with water in the oil also came with a water leak at the back of the head. I got a service man from my distributor to put in the seal kit. It turned out the problem was a broken brass spacer ring in the seal/spacer stack. Since this spacer is not included in...

    Using well water.

To answer the original question, I see no problem using well water to produce soft or RO water. I have been doing both for 15 years. I do however filter the well water twice in front of the softener and once again before the RO machine. Your local water supplier may have some questions when...

    Using well water.

So, why well water? Have water and sewer rates suddenly skyrocketed? How about a $1,200/mo. water bill...is that a good enough reason?

    Rebuild Grinder Pump?

Here a couple of water/sewer dept. employees have a side business of repairing lift stations. Last time I had a pump fail it was $900 for a rebuilt pump installed. I questioned the rebuilt pump and our sewer dept. always uses the rebuilt pumps. I’d see who your sewer dept. recommends.

    d&s I 5000 uses a lot of spot free

My machine also uses my cat 3535 to dispense the final spot free rinse. To reduce the consumption rate I plumbed a ‘T’ into the intake and the discharge lines of the pump. I connected the ‘T’s’ together with a 3/8” hose along with a normally closed solenoid valve. When my machine shifts from...

    Water & Sewer rates?

Here in north Fl. my most recent bill was $10.87 per 1,000 gal. It is split 38/62 water to sewer.

    Weepmizer calibration

3 1/2 rounds raised the reading 8 degrees. We'll see if that does the trick. Thanks for the help.

    Vector Super Heater

I'd check with Watlow. I used them to replace a couple of stainless immersion heaters.

    Weepmizer calibration

My weepmizer is out of calibration (- 8 degrees). Can I adjust it myself of does it need to be sent in to Dixmor?

My local distributor used to sell A-OK machines and still services what he sold. PM me and I will share his name and number

    reworked 310 head pulsating

Problem turned out to be a crack in a fitting on the uphill side of the pump. It was not big enough to dirip but was big enough to suck air when the trigger was pulled.

    reworked 310 head pulsating

Stan did mine too. My next step is replacing the head AGAIN!

    reworked 310 head pulsating

Today I had a cat 310 start pulsating like it had something under a valve. By the time I was finished I had 6 new valves, a seal kit and a new supply line complete with check valve. The pump still pulsates. I did not consider a washed out head for all my heads were reworked with stinless...

Anyone try these new "Eternity? brush Vac motors?

I don't think they have been on the market long enough to establish any sort of track record. I just bought 4 and plan to install them later this year when I do my annual vac maintenance.

    Bug remover / oven cleaner

I’ve got a neighbor who has been using Walmart (Great Value) oven cleaner for bug remover. He sprays it on, waits a few minutes then washes it off with a garden hose and nozzle. So far it has not hurt the windshield, paint or chrome on his new Chevy pickup. Anybody else ever tried this...

    3/8" swivels

I've been using JE Adams stainless swivels. I'll try changing the o-ring and see if that works

    3/8" swivels

The 3/8” swivels on each end of my wand hoses tighten up over time. This only happens when running high pressure. They work fine under low pressure or no pressure. I’ve taken the swivels apart, cleaned out the dirt and put a little Vaseline on the o-ring and nylon washer. This worked for...
