In 2018, I went with Diskin's Air Shammee II, that has 1 - 4.5HP motor, mounted on my 5 bay walls. Our dryers get a lot of use. $10k investment was paid off in 3 months (per hour meters). Over the past 4 years we have improved their system as we found flaws... It might be over-kill but it's eliminated complaints from customers and increased customer satisfaction!

• Added SS elbow (from Mosmatic) because hose clamp was cutting into the hose.
• Added plastic vacuum cuffs to the elbow with self-tapping screws to help the hose stay on the boom elbow
• Upgraded the hose clamps on the hoses. The original ones weren't strong enough to tighten around plastic corrugated dryer hose.
• Added in-line swivel (Mosmatic)on the boom plate because short hose would kink when the boom was used.
• Replaced their nozzle with Air Logics nozzle. Diskin's nozzle has an inner baffle that restricts the air flow & the back pressure caused a lot of problems (holes in hoses, hoses blowing off the end of the boom, rivets falling out of the nozzle). Also, customers didn't like holding the trigger while using.
• Upgraded their sign with liability risk due to higher air speed.
• Remounted the boom bracket through the concrete bay wall using 10" bolts, to support the added weight and welded the boom sections together.
• Added 3' boom extension (from Mosmatic) to reduce stress on the dryer hose & better reach over customers vehicle.
• Upgraded wand holder

2. Then, originally you have a black cuff(which I don’t think is swivel neither sides) with two clamps, that connects the motor with the short hose, right?
3. Then is the short hose itself. I think you’ve mentioned that you changed the hoses as well?
4. Then you have the plastic swivel cuffs, part #VAA-5?
5. Then you’ve put the swivel from Mosmatic (BOMP60323). It’s function is to prevent the short hose from twisting when customer moves the boom, right?
6. Then you have the boom with the extension and the metal elbow.
7. Then you have the VAA-5 again?
8. Then you have the long hose.
9. And lastly you have the Air Logic gun, no swivel in the cuff and you mount it with glue?

I have a few more questions, if anybody can help me with:

Is anyone mounted an Air Shamme boom on the ceiling? In one of my bays the boom can’t be mounted on the wall. Mosmatic have a ceiling boom but they are pricey and I am not sure you can use the Mosmatic boom with the Air Shamme motor?

3. Then is the short hose itself. I think you’ve mentioned that you changed the hoses as well? YES, ORIGINALLY THEY WERE INSTALLED WITH A SECTION OF STANDARD VACUUM HOSE, BUT WITH THE BACK-PRESSURE FROM THE ORIGINAL DISKIN GUNS, THEY WERE SPLITTING. WE NOW USE A RIGID, HEAT-RESISTANT HOSE FROM KLEEN-RITE (NOT A VACUUM HOSE).
4. Then you have the plastic swivel cuffs, part #VAA-5? NO, WE ONLY USE ONE VAA-5 CUFF AT THE END OF THE BOOM ELBOW.
5. Then you’ve put the swivel from Mosmatic (BOMP60323). It’s function is to prevent the short hose from twisting when customer moves the boom, right? YES, CORRECT. WITHOUT THE INLINE COUPLING, THE HOSE WAS PINCHING CLOSED WHEN THE CUSTOMER MOVED THE BOOM (CUTTING OFF AIR FLOW).
6. Then you have the boom with the extension and the metal elbow. YES. MOSMATIC BRAND EXTENSION AND METAL ELBOW.
7. Then you have the VAA-5 again? WE USE ONLY 1 VAA-5. WE HAVE TRIED BOTH VAA-5 AND THE VAS22P. THE VAA-5 IS 1 PIECE CUFF (SLIP ON ONE END AND THREADED ON THE OTHER. YOU CAN QUICKLY SCREW THE VACUUM HOSE INTO THE THREADED END (SECURE WITH 4 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS), THEN SLIP THE OTHER END ONTO THE METAL ELBOW WITH A HOSE CLAMP. IF YOU NEED MORE RIGIDITY FOR THE SELF-TAPPING SCREWS, YOU CAN ALSO USE CUFF (VAS22P). IT HAS AN INTERNAL SWIVEL NUT. WE USED THESE CUFFS WHEN WE FOUND THAT HOSES WERE FALLING DOWN IN THE BAYS, FROM CUSTOMERS PULLING ON THEM.
8. Then you have the long hose. WE USE STANDARD 15' KLEEN-RITE VACUUM HOSE. THEY HAVE MORE UV PROTECTION AND HOLD UP BETTER TO HEAT AND SUNLIGHT.
9. And lastly you have the Air Logic gun, no swivel in the cuff and you mount it with glue? WE USE AIR LOGIC GUN, NOW WITH THE SWIVEL. NO GLUE NEEDED. SCREW THE VACUUM HOSE INTO THE THREADED GUN, SECURE WITH 3" LONG SCREW AND ROUNDED CAP NUT.

ALTHOUGH THE AIR FLOW OPENING ON THE AIR LOGIC GUN IS ONLY ABOUT 1.5", WHEN IT COMES OUT 300MPG, IT DRYS A WIDE AREA OF THE CAR. THE DISKIN GUN IS A BAD DESIGN. IT HAS AN INTERNAL BAFFLE THAT IMPEDES THE AIR FLOW, CREATES BACK-PRESSURE AND HEATED TURBULENCE, WHICH IS WHY WE SWITCHED TO THE AIR LOGIC GUND. NO MORE COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS.


Are the 3-phase motors very loud and do they generate a lot of heat? I am asking because I have to mount a dryer in an underground parking lot. I DON'T KNOW THE DECIBELS OF THE DISKIN. IN A CONFINED AREA, THE SOUND WILL PROBABLY MAGNIFY. BUY 1 AND TRY IT OUT.
BY SWITCHING FROM DISKIN TO AIR LOGIC GUNS, IT HAS ELIMINATED HEATED TURBULENCE. THE AIR FLOW DOES GET WARM FROM THE BLADES MOVING ON THE MOTOR, BUT IT'S HOT. IT HELPS DRY THE VEHICLE.

Yes, fairly concentrated but if you use a good sealer/Rain-X type product/ceramic or even a wax first it only takes maybe four minutes to get a small car 90% dry. If you want it truly dry then it will take a really long time. You should try to find a wash that has them and try it for yourself.

The three phase motors/producers are very quiet. I'm not sure exactly how hot they get but it is not something that should be of concern.

Highly recommend the three phase motors. Call up Diskin and order directly with them, will save you some money compared to ordering from Kleen rite.

How did you guys anchor these in block walls? Did you go all the way through the wall with carriage bolts and washers or did you use the wedge anchors like suggested by Diskins?

All the way through for us on the block for the equipment room.
I put the (cheesy) gun holders in a bench press and flattened them out, cut to fit and used them as a backing plate. The concern is the boom turns into a lever if somebody hangs on it or drives up the hose, especially if you extend the boom length.

IF your walls are filled with concrete and rebar to the top, I personally don't see the need for a backing plate on the motors.(Others may have another opinion ) There isn't enough rotational torque to worry about and they're not that heavy. 3/8" X 3" Red Head anchors should do it. I was able to wrestle mine up a ladder and place them on an 8' shelf in my equipment room with no help, although I'd recommend using the provided lifting ring on the motor, a rope & pulley, and a helper.
Edit: If there is any concern in your mind about the motor falling on a human's head, a possible solution could be to use a safety cable to fasten at a different location like a roof member.

Who do you buy your soap from? Here in Northern California, my soap rep company contracts with a sub-contractor who installed the Diskin dryers for me. You can also hire a qualified & insured handyman / electrician to do. Follow the tips given in this Forum.
