    Wasteful, Ridiculous and Costly Lighting

I agree with Scott. I too tried those discount brands, and they lasted only 6-10 months. Sure they will replace them under warranty, but they do not compensate you for the extra time in changing them. I buy GEs from my local electric supply house. They charge me $16.95 each for a box of 12...

    Con-Serv reclaim filter bags

Thanks Bob. That price I quoted is for 10 bags. I get those from McMaster-Carr Supply Co. I may call them to see if they can give a larger discount on 50. I'm not sure why I did not think of that anyhow. Sometimes the answer is starring you in the face.

    Con-Serv reclaim filter bags

Is anyone paying less than $5.75 for the size 12 polyester felt filter bags that are used on an older Con-Serv reclaim system? If so, where are you getting them? Thanks.

    Best deal on Cameras

I agree with Red Baron. www.carwashcameras.com is the best deal going for the money. I am getting ready to replace all my GE Storepros with their stuff. They just recently lowered pricing with a new DVR system. Tech support is the best I have ever seen (Jennifer). On another note, I used to...

Repairing an exposed floor heat line

I use Rockite, from any hardware store. Sets hard in 15-20 minutes. It is a powder, mix with water. Repairs seem to hold really well.

I second the Grainger position. You probably will not find a better price than Grainger.

    Tire Cleaner

A check valve in the attic could be starting to fail. The high pressure will clear the line out all the way back to the equipment room. So when the tire cleaner comes on, it has to fill the whole line before reaching the gun. This is what I have found to be the case every time that issue...

    Rotary Switch vs. Push Button

Rotary= inexpensive and very relaible; use the quick-disconnect units. Push buttons = expensive, and more prone to moisture issues. My 10th grade algebra teacher taught me the "KISS" principle. Keep it simple, stupid. Rotary is simple; easy for customers.

    Dixmor Weepmizer~Fix or Replace??

I use two sensors at all my locations; one on each side of the building. The coldest sensor will operate the unit. This is the safest way. They are all placed tight to the soffit out of the direct sun.

    Iowa Changer

I have had great experience with them. Repaired products actually work when returned....unlike Hamilton. If you replace any Hamilton validators, I would use the Iowa. I have had five of those in use for over three years, and not one has been out for service.

Boom error on Water Wizard 1.0

All right guys, it looks like it was something in the motor. I replaced it, and the problem has ceased. I would get it pulled apart, but with a new one less than $200, it really is not worth it. I wish I had done that first versus replacing proxs and eyes. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks...

    You lost how much money?

All these posts just show the sad state of human mentality and integrity. Why do so many think they need to get something over on car wash owners? I think we provide a good service for the buck. Yes, occassionally equipment fails and we handle it. But why does jammed dollar bill become a...

    Cameras inside the bay

One more quick note....the wiper motor /blade has been lasting me about 2-2.5 years, not 1 as I stated. They will sell you the replacement motor, but it is almost as much as the whole thing. So, I just order the whole thing and replace the entire front face with motor. I keep two on the...

    The Moron Factor

Red Baron...... you are right. I once owned two fast food restaurants. One was in an area w/ $38k+ household income, and one was $22k+. When I ran coupon flights, the higher income area used them like crazy. But the lower income are only redeemed about 1-2%. You would think it would be the...

    Cameras inside the bay

I use a housing with a wiper. It is at www.aaasecurityproducts.com It is a 24v motor. I run a 24v feed from the auto plc so wiper only runs when someone is in the auto. I have one camera right a tag level, and one on opposite end up high. The wiper housing last about a year under the harsh...

    You lost how much money?

Cameras solve just about everything. I verify all lost money by equating the time customer said they were there, to the problem they are reporting. And, yes if someone says they lost only a $1 in a vacuum-- I verify it. It is easy to do with todays camera systems. Plus it is peace of mind to...

    Geothermal Assist For Floor Heat

I installed six geothermal loops to assist w/ floor heating back in 2000 on a 5/1. This was not an actual geo system w/ a compressor. I was pre-heating the floors to 50, then the gas heater would take over. In the evening, the heater would shut off, and I would simply run the circulator over...

    Black Algae

Have your water tested straight out of the well. A detailed water test is usually on $10-15. This will tell you exactly what is in the water. You will probably need some sort of treatment prior to your softner. Well water is tricky, because it can change throughout the year.
