    Best ceiling booms?

There's a really nicely upgraded wash I pass by a lot, it was remodeled with Mosmatic Z booms about three years ago. After about a year several of the lights had quit working. I stopped by just a couple of days ago and none of them work.

    Best ceiling booms?

Don't do the dual if you're at all worried about tangled hoses. Also they're $2300 each, twice as much as two Mosmatic Z booms.

    Looking for a used Goldline

I'm looking for a used Hamilton Goldline, preferably with a working dial-up modem.

    Best ceiling booms?

Mosmatic's Z booms are nice, but they're crazy expensive and the swivels are expensive and seem to be prone to leaks. Dralco Z booms don't look as nice but they do the job just as well for about half the price, and they use any boom swivel or even a gun swivel with a street elbow.

    Futura Fail

I have gotten prox sensors and photo eyes from Mouser. They aren't anything specific to any car wash machines, they're very common in all sorts of automation. If they don't have Turck, they should be able to cross it over to Banner or Schneider.

    Ice - Signage - liability

Signs are getting really cheap to make. I got tow-away zone signs printed on powder-coated steel for $36 each for a local sign maker. They make them a lot cheaper printed on polystyrene.

    Ice - Signage - liability

IMO your signage is sufficient. We don't get much business when it's cold so closing when a freeze is imminent isn't a big deal. People will try to wash with weep water and just ice over more of the bay anyway. In case you're in a one-party consent state, if you apologize to the person over...

    Pressure regulator

It will take some replumbing, but I'd replace it with this one: https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-1780-general-pump-ybrv5325-balanced-pressure-regulator-valve-53-gpm-2900-psi.aspx Direct replacement...

    Recognize this RO brand/brine valve?

Just nudge it off the stop. If you aren't careful or if it's noisy and you can't hear the clicks, you can easily push it past the first set of pins and the whole regeneration process gets thrown off. If you turn it slowly until the gears start to move, you've already turned it too far. I...

    Ice - Signage - liability

I say let your insurance deal with it. That's what you pay them for. Hopefully they can and will show that there was no negligence on your part. People have become so litigious that we just blow out the lines and shut off the power when an extended freeze is forecast.

    Water Wizard 2.0 Review

The Kondor is a good machine, IMO a lot easier to work on and a lot simpler than a Water Wizard. Rotten hoses are cheap and easy to replace. Paystation can be given a facelift with new buttons, decals, and a good cleaning. It should be able to take a $20 and pay out change, and should be able...

    Wringer

No one answers the DynaJet phone numbers. Kleen-Rite doesn't have their wringers listed on their site anymore. The one from Dultmeier is most likely made by Dralco. It's a good wringer, but the spring is stainless steel. Stainless doesn't make a very good spring. I always replace the...

    Recognize this RO brand/brine valve?

The reason you're low on resin is because it breaks down and flows out during the backwash cycle. Right now it's set for 5500 gallons to regenerate. Pull out on the center of the dial to lower the gallons. IMO that's not going to help, you'll just waste water and salt.

    Check valve for weep

I use this one. I think I've had one failure out of hundreds of them installed. The Teflon seal doesn't come off the poppet like the Buna-N o-ring type does. https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-1766-fluid-controls-cv-100t-stainless-steel-check-valve-1-4-in-fxf-3500-psi-4-gpm-ptfe.aspx

    General pump low pressure

Your regulator could be bad. Your tip could be washed out. You might have a bad check valve letting pressure back where it shouldn't go.

    Coin acceptor

I haven't tried it myself. The sensor appears to be in the top coin chute path, so I can see where it could be a problem. I haven't noticed any customers having problems.

    Vacuum dirt robbed last night

I used to manage a chain of SS car washes, and one of the attendants was absolutely obsessed with the idea of digging it out and going through it for any quarters that got dropped and rolled into the pit. For literally a year he asked me for ideas on how to do it. I kept telling him how they'd...
