    Payment methods reality check resource

Fellow & future self serve car wash operators, I happened to stumble onto the following relatively new website that I thought I would share since it is relevant to especially to the self service format among us.* *https://cashessentials.org/news/ I really think they are fulfilling a need for...

    Purified drinking water

Cough cough sneeze sneeze sore throat hack hack .... sorry I was a bit too quick on the description & not thorough enough on the specific item. There may be other similar steam inhaler items that also require distilled water ... not sure. Steam-inhaler would have been a better description ...

Lowering start price from 1.50$ to 1.00$

I don't know what percentage of us have tandem bays ... but almost since day one we have always kept our start up lower than the competition to encourage a quick pull forward between inserts keeping both tandem bays being used. Anybody else have that consideration tugging at them a bit?

    Purified drinking water

I have a respirator-humidifier that calls for distilled water. Good RO should qualify since the concern is calcification.

High pressure hose less ceiling booms

I think Jason is talking about where the boom itself is the conduit for the water immediately after the inlet manifold goes into the inlet of the main overhead swivel inlet. There would be the end hi pressure hose of course with the gun but that would be connected to that boom-water conduit...

Looking for a simple way to deliver Low Pressure chemical using High Pressure pump

Thanks 2 Biz, Mep & others ... I never thought about the potential waste. The sellers/or users of such systems used too always play up the "simplicity" of such systems. First glance appearances apparently can be deceiving. On our low pressure items, our customers purposely let go of the...

    Salt - salt - salt

We wait for a sale & hope that one of the places are the ones who put a pallet on our pickup truck. Our neighbor has been kind enough to allow his forklift used for a few minutes & we also now store the salt outside rather than using valuable inside space. We are due to get some ... it looks...

    Replace cat 310

Replacing seals are kind of spendy too. There is one of our pumps that seems to temporarily develop pulsing. Usually we can track it to a low supply tank or a leak in the soap or wax tubing. On this one ... we even replaced inlet seals more than once & it still about once a month mysteriously...

    Bill Acceptors Worth It?

Chaz, Good Strategy! Just to add a variation & still accept credit/debit etc. ... I think some of us operators should check to see if there is a strong dominance of Banks & Credit Unions in their area that take care of (with zero hassles) all ATM fees. That is the case in our area. The...

New Display for AMS SENSIT II

Randy, I wonder if the job would require an industrial lab grade grounded soldering station to prevent potential cmos damage???

How long should my hoses be?

Since we are actually using 1/4" hi pressure hose to be lighter for the customer ... I am thinking this would work & be a bit cheaper besides. We have what looks to be identical 1/2" Parker 300PSI we are using with our 32+ laundromat washing machine project. We just horse shoe bent it like...

    Bill Acceptors Worth It?

wash12 & others, I know I am talking a concept now & it possibly is not too late for some operators to arrange it. I am speaking from experience of successfully having an ATM now for over 6 years, two 4 hopper Std ChangeMakers, & bill acceptors in each of 6 bays. The ideal would be to have a...

How long should my hoses be?

That what we use currently after discontinuing coil hoses. No kinking seems the big plus. Mep's suggestion only made sense because the hose does go bad by the brush's handle-bend restrictor with wire braid. The Continental hose seems like a lot easier to fix with a pushlock on the end that...

    Installing Credit Card Readers

hmm.... 50 x $400 = Just thinking out loud ... if I am allowed to... $20k+ for a smaller laundromat attached to a self service car wash + no guarantee that overall merchant fee cost will not creep up along with like Randy Nix says close to 10% tax in his state which can happen in any state of...

    Which air chuck to buy?

Our Town, We have had good luck with the KR one. An almost identical one also could be bought from TSC (Tractor Supply Co) in our area. We have a Cox non jerking hose retracting reel behind a wall which seems to make for much less of what Earl described. The reel was spendy. We waited for...

    Credit Card "All In Fees"

Ghetto Wash, Thanks for the heads up for some of us. Not to be too negative but it seems like for some locations ... merchant fee based formats are not worth it. We know from past posts that you are in one of the toughest areas in the USA where cashless could be helpful ... but it comes down...

    What to use for grates?

Keith, If we did that ... our luck would be some even heavier forklift being washed would have a wheel right where the fiberglass would be vulnerable. I did what Mep suggested. A long term friend welding fabricator & supply local out Glenn's Welding ... even though Glenn has lots of employees...

    Paraplate BR5-2 Regulator...

Sorry for the delay in getting back to your good question: It turns out my main guy used up the last one so mine can go out albeit rarely... sometimes we shamefully do not let each other know or keep perfect inventory. It has been so long since ordering ... I am not sure 100% what brand. It...

    Wash bay coin acceptors

Jason & others, I hope this helps. Microcoin QL have worked out the best for us for several years ... when it comes to multi-coin ability. For single coin ... over 25 years of very close to zero ever issue ... Parker or Parker's patent holding of the single coin GinSan's before we tried IDX...
