    Bay wont shut off???

I have seen timers get a glitch and stick on. Power down the bay and then power back up will usually reset things.

    HydraFlex chemical injectors.

I use the injectors on my automatics with good results. The automatics use a rotary pump for consistent pressure. I add a flow meter between the chemical and the injector so I can see that I am getting proper flow. I do keep spares on hand. At some locations I use a dual barb injector so that...

Baymaster bay boxes with Ryko SS

All you should have to do with the ryko signature series bay box is energize the key pad to make it work. WHen the current timer is activated it energizes the key pad so the functions work during countdown. Credit cards, wash cards, etc just need a couple of wires to the key pad. I have added...

    Handi-Clam Pit Tool

I have one at each location and use it for emergency mud removal. It depends on what your local rules are for waste disposal as to what you do with the pit dirt. I have found over the years that people will see them and want to borrow them from you to clean a pit they have. They never get...

    Civil Suit in Houston TX

Years ago when I was in the tire business I contracted with a licensed waste oil hauler to remove used oil. They only picked up a few hundred gallons. They eventually went bankrupt and it was found out that they were actually taking the oil out to the desert and illegally dumping it. The...

Yelp: Friend or foe... or something else?

Watch the SOuthPark carton from this year where they roast YELP. It is very funny, so funny that YELP is suing the show for doing the same thing they do to everyone elses business.

LW4000 for free. Should I go for it?

I recently sold on wash location that had 2 ryko OHD 2001 with all the options like trifoam, rocker panel blasters, tire clean, 3 fan dryer, rain x, wax digital sign. stop go light etc. I offered 1 for free to another forum member and this is the break out of what it would have cost to remove...

    The worst stain

We removed the seat cover and had to do multiple flushes on the foam cushion. We then gave it a heavy dose of odor eliminator and ozone and put it back together. Seemed to take care care of the smell and stain.

    The worst stain

Any extractor should be able to remove liquid laundry detergent with multiple passes. Things with bleaches, dyes, protein stains are much tougher to remove. One of the worst we ever tackled was a guy who had a mini van and had shot a deer in Texas and put the meat in a large cooler and forgot to...

    need a new pump

I was using cat 530s at one location and have had about 3 of them fail in the last year. They gave me 12 good years of service so I am not complaining about them. I sent them in for repair but all were to far gone. I switched over to the arimitsu 516 and have been very happy with them so far...

Things you see on video at the car wash

It does not even have to be on video. I am dismantling a wash I sold and have removed the vacs and garbage cans. WHile taking apart some of the automatics I see a lady pull up by a old vac stand. I tell her that we are closed and there are no vacs here. She says " that's OK I am just going to...

    Towel Station

Sizing for cotton is used mostly as a lubricate during manufacturing process. In the mills it cuts down the friction so that the fabric does not catch fire during manufacture but it must be washed off with hot water to get the towel to absorb water.

    Single vac booms

I am thinking about upgrading some vacs to the 180 degree pivoting booms. I searched the archives and found one old thread that said the vac hoses would scratch the roofs of cars. Most express washes use the booms but people pull in between them and simply vac from the sides of the car with no...

    California Forest Fires

I am here in Idaho and we have had a few fires for sure. We get forest fires and range fires. Range fires consist of large expanses of sage brush and sheet grass. Open range is generally kept in check by letting cattle graze on the range and they eat the sheet grass keeping the fire fuel down...

    Towel Station

It is stainless steel. Custom made and cost about $650 12 years ago. Probably double that now. All you really need is 2 bins, One for dry and one for wet towels. A couple of plastic coolers with lids will also work.

    Towel Station

I had a request to post a picture of a typical free drying towel station. This is one I had made 12 years ago and is holding up well. All you really need is a container to hold dry towels and one to hold wet used towels. I also have some that are stacked on top of each other.
