    Trough Heat

You buy the cable in bulk and cut it to your needs. They sell a kit that has a GFI breaker with a plug in that goes on one end. THen on the other end is a water proof termination end. It comes in both 220 or 110 volt so make sure you order correct for your application. It might be cheaper to buy...

    Half Pint Vendor frustrations!

Over the years I have had many problems on equipment where sun chines directly into photo eyes. It ranges from bill acceptors to automatics. If you can shade the photo eyes so sun does not shine directly into them you can generally stop the problems.

OHD circuit breaker tripped. Can't reset.

The pump on a OHd is direct coupled. If you look at the pump and motor you will see a sliver cover held on by a couple of screws between the two. Take the cover off and you will see the motor coupled to the pump shaft. Reach in with a pipe wrench or channel lock pliers and try moving the shaft...

    Paint polishers

Cyclo polishers are made in teh US and I have heard that there is a knock off of them. It is not variable speed. Since that post we have buffed dozen of cars with the cylos. Using a 3000 grit 3m trizac sander on deep scratches and then follow with a yellow cyclo pad using 3m #1 polishing...

The good, the bad, and the bitchy...

I had all the SS bays busy with people waiting to get in. One guy was using his Meguairs waterless carwash in a bay and not paying for the bay. He got all bent out of shape when I told him to leave or I would call the cops and have him charged with theft of services. I had paying customers...

    What's up in Ohio?

Rain on a hot day while driving long periods is the toughest kind of film for a touchfree wash to remove. Layers of oily road film may not get removed by any chemical without friction. You said in your post that you had this type of film you had. This is generally my biggest challenge with...

    Best Laundry Detergent for carwash&detail

The people who sell towels have always told me never to use any detergent on towels. It coats the towels and they do not work as well. I always wash the window towels seperatly and on occasion will use vinegar in the water for the window towels.

The Neverending Bad Weather Now Continues For Nearly 2 Years

Here in Idaho we were off 100 sunny days last year compared to a normal year. So far this year we have already received our full year of rain by the end of June. June was almost 5X the normal precip with 21 straight days of rain. Seems like certain pockets of the country are really getting bad...

Which rollover manufacture has washed the most cars?

When I bought my first Ryko 16 years ago I remember their slogan was " We are washing a million cars a day." I think for years ryko owned the firction market and PDQ owned the touch free business. Ryko eventually started getting into the touchfree market about 20 years ago while other mfg. were...

    getting weeps ready for winter

I used to have a weep system that circulated the weep water through all the Ss wands. It had a recirculating pump and also a heater element to heat the water when it got cold. Turned out to be a bigger problem than what it was worth. Weep miser is the only way to go.

Make sure the tires are full. WHen you move the trolley across the back of a vehicle count the times the prox blinks as it goes across the gantry. It sounds like it is either taking to long to get across the gantry,( low tires will cause this) or the trolley prox is not counting all the flags...

    How clean is clean enough?

I have found over time that California drivers have a higher reguard for what is clean and what is not. When I travel there and visit friends i am amazed at how well they keep their cars up. The people are more accustomed to getting detail services. I recently opened a detail shop up in a small...
