    Alarm systems

I have installed a couple of different systems for around $200. I got a couple at Lowes with wireless motion sensors, door and window sensors. They included an autodialer and siren. GE makes them. If you go on line the GE simon system looks the same but has a few more features than the Lowes...

Does triple foam system increase income enough

I had it at one location and it use was less than 5%. I switched over and put RainX in all 3 buckets and advertised it in the bays. Use of the function doubled to about 10% of overall time. I would not put tripe foam in again.

    Sidetrac Question

The 3 inch hose sounds like the same thing used on my ringomatic pit cleaner. I have had to buy new section of hose several time for it. You should have a shop that sells industrial hoses some where close. It is a fairly common type of hose and should be easy to find.

    Soapy's New Detail Shop

We have 2 people at the center at all times and I can call up people from my other wash locations if things get real busy. 2 people can do a car in 30 minutes pretty easy. I got a lot of the info and training from detail plus on the express detail logistics. What has surprised me is that so far...

In need of a good Upholstery Cleaner

Bud, I do use the method you outlined. It is the same one that you described in detailing instructions I bought from you. I was only answering the question about a nuetral smelling carpet extracting shampoo. I was not outlining the method of cleaning that should be used.

    Soapy's New Detail Shop

My wife spent everyday for a month rehabbing the building with me but I think she did most of the work.. Finally got the rest of our equipment in this week and business has been good and we are learning everyday. I used to detail out in the wash parking lots years ago and having a good building...

    evaporation or water loss?

I recall the ICA did a study a few years back and calculated that 30 to 35% of the water used per car does not go down the sewer. It is used up in carry off and evaporation. SOme have even taken the data to their sewer districts to get releif on the sewer bill. SOme have been able to get reduced...

    Brand Recognition?

Yesterday I was approached by the Mark V detail supplier. He was a nice guy and I have seen Mark V detail stuff around for a long time. He said that it is the commercial line of MOTHERS car care products. I told him I was not interested in Mark V after all the negative ads that Mothers recently...

    Famous Person Spotted

Looks like Mick fleetwood of fleetwood MAC fame to me. The most famous people I can think of seeing at my washes are Pitzer and Randy from our forum. Oh yea Harrison Ford and Vin Deisel once in a while but I liked Randy and Bill more.

It would also have the minerals that were removed from all the water it processed in addition to the salt. You can always shorten the cycle time on the softner if you think it is running to long.

    Paint polishers

I worked on my brothers Tundra today It had a lot of scratches from his dogs jumping on the sides of the bed trying to get in. Very deep scratches. I first had to wet sand the scratches with a 3M trizact pad and a small rotary air sander. Then I used a yellow pad with 3M #1 compound on the...

    A Clean Car

I use blendco products and use 3 different systems from them right now. My experience has been that if I had to run at 30 drops of titration their product would not be cost effective compared to other presoaks that I am using. It is more difficult to figure the true cost per car when using their...

    A Clean Car

So if your figures are right it only takes .00009 cents for soap per ounce. So this would make the total soap presoak cost under a penny per wash. This is not how soap costs are in my world for presoak.

Using a cyclo to polish glass

For most water spots on glass I first try vinegar and if that does not work I go to a stronger acid based cleaner to disolve that hard calcium. Then I rinse with clean water.

    A Clean Car

Remember he is selling the soap and the more you use the more he makes. The barrel says right on it 20 to 25 drops not 30. I would keep it in a range of 20 to start with and see if you are cleaning cars like you want. At 30 IMO you are wasting soap and padding his pockets.
