    You lost how much money?

We have a camera above each changer & can tell the denomination of the bill. More than once someone lost a $1 bill & tried to say it was a bigger bill. One time we showed the person a printout of the specific bill held. He didn't argue but looked pretty sheepish & the "I thought it was a five"...

    opening for credit card reader

Ken-Pro, I agree that the card info itself has to be secure from the time it is swiped onward similar to an ATM. The output to spreadsheet was just an example of the ability to output the time & total charge not the credit card personal info! Looking for all the options does not mean that I...

    opening for credit card reader

Thanks Eric, It seems that you gave me the answer that I needed. It sounds like I will just have to drill a hole for the Cat 5 wire & to drill the bolt holes for the external reader which will supposedly rest on the front. I hope the reader doesn't stick out too far, it seems that it would...

    opening for credit card reader

My fellow carwash operators, I don't expect you to do all my research for me but I have a question for those of you who have considered having the opening on your coin boxes made so more than one brand of card reader will fit. We do not want to go with credit card readers for our dog wash or...

Dog Wash shampoo & chemical depletion experience?

I know there are several dog washers on the forum. I have to stock up during the month of May for our upcoming opening by our 4th of July target date. We save on freight by ordering it in May, The question is in what approximate proportion should I order the 5 gallon pails of chemical from...

City flushing water lines and hydrants

Usually, if it is just the hydrants it isn't too bad in our city. I do have some some serious memories like Randy describes but it tended to be when they were change valve in the street. When we needed to put in a new water main hookup & increase our size from 2" to 4" the private contractor...

Cat 310 pump manifold washed out?

I wonder how many of us use a stainless spring inside the inlet suction hose. Mine are still in there from the original Specialty Equipment install. It does seem like a good safety precaution in case the rubber starts getting softer with age to prevent an inward collapse factor. It would be...

PLC inductive load & input questions from actual experience?

I am looking at the specs of some PLCs & some modules have "short circuit proofing" built in. Instant shut down if over 1 amp is detected.

Cat 310 pump manifold washed out?

direct city water test What I can't figure out is that I thought I read on a previous post that a fool proof way to determine if it is an air leak problem is to put 50 lbs of pressure(city water in our case) directly on the Cat 310 inlet. I did that with a plugged soap inlet & it still...

PLC inductive load & input questions from actual experience?

It appears like the more commonly available Mars AE2612U3E will also pulse properly for a PLC & I assume the suffix E means that it comes with a harness to splice into. I suppose that a Mars MDB validator could also work but I would have know a bit more about what is transmitted through the...

    back up heat

It looks like whatever the heater-----clearances would be critical--- so something combustible isn't potentially ignited.

Cat 310 pump manifold washed out?

ncwg, How did you solve your polsation & lower pressure problem on your Cat 310???

Cat 310 pump manifold washed out?

Keith & ncwg, We put new seal kits in one of our Cat 310s & it still would not work. We checked & checked for any potiential air leaks. None. OK, we then put a known good spare pump on. Still same problem like you two describe. Guess what, this morning we took the 2 garden hose faucet...

PLC inductive load & input questions from actual experience?

Mep, Thank you for very helpful information. At our new dog wash we will want the Mars to also accept 10s & 20s. Does this require a specific harness or specification which will in turn allow for whatever voltage?

PLC inductive load & input questions from actual experience?

MEP001, Is the pulsed output from the Mars & the Slugbusters 24VAC or 5VDC??? I am trying to order the right type of modules, ports or contact banks etc on the PLC. The PLC people need to know if it is dc or ac & the voltage etc.

PLC inductive load & input questions from actual experience?

I know some of my fellow operators have actual hands on PLC experience as it applies to latching on the following: ---6.5VA dog wash 24VAC solenoids ---13 watt 24VAC Asco Solenoid ---Usual 24VAC coils on the more commonly sold Car or Dog Wash magnetic contactors in Car Wash Catalogs ---Laurel...

    giving customers lots of pressure

Our guns bypass inside the gun itself which means variable pressure----less when squezed less but the same or more water volume. Ours are 2504 nozzles at 1500 psi. We have warning signs. I really get defensive when fellow operators or journalists paint a picture of above 1200 psi as being too...

    Bay Walls

The only place we paint is above 8 feet & we use Columbia 2 part latex epoxy. It worked out better for us than Sherwin Williams oil based epoxy. Your climate may require a slightly different paint. We are in North Dakota.

    credit card reader stoped working

Randy, So, if a particular brand of reader goes bad a little too often, does the operator have the option to shop around for a better quality reader or is he stuck with whatever the OEM stays with?

Workers' comp insurance - class, cost

I suppose it would depend on your operation but it seems that janitorial-general maintenance would be a better fit.
