Another day at the car wash....

I was just told a story by a car wash owner that for most of 2019 he had a married man and woman living in a tent right behind his car wash property. They were both employed, he was a manager at Home Depot, she was some executive secretary type at a title company. He said he talked to them to...

    Pressure and nozzle size

Spraying Systems MEG tips are hardened stainless and are more for descaling. They have really good impact less than 12" but lose most of it at more than 2 feet away. Veespray don't have the knife-edge spray and are safer, and they still have good impact at 3 feet. I've been using General Pump...

Another day at the car wash....

I had a crazy homeless like that for a while. It took three months of watching for him, calling the police, telling them that he runs out into traffic when they see him, before they finally showed up seven officers strong and cornered him. Even then all they could do was issue a criminal...

Will KR give you any sample Tokens?

They haven't been that cheap since 2005 when fuel prices went over $5/gallon.

Will KR give you any sample Tokens?

Common token size is .984 which is just a hair bigger than a quarter. They sent me to Hoffman Mint to order custom tokens. Just call them, they'll send you a pack of sample tokens.

    Pressure and nozzle size

So the first 3' is 2-wire hydraulic hose which has almost no give at all to the pressure, and the rest is stainless steel tubing that has NO give at all, and it's run along the building? That means the building itself is resonating to the normal pulsation of the pump. An Arimitsu plunger pump...

    Pressure and nozzle size

It's loud and resonates in the entire building because you're running steel braided high pressure hose and don't have any sort of pulsation dampener.

    Drilling Medeco cam locks

I'm assuming they're all T-handle and/or plug locks. In both cases you just replace the Medeco portion. I doubt you can "rekey" a Medeco cylinder.

Anybody ever added a bay on the end?

FWIW my busiest bay does about six times the revenue as my least used bay on the far end. If it had been added on, it would take close to ten years to pay off at $30k to build.

    Employee giving time on Meters??????

If you have good reason to suspect a thief is working for you, do what you have to to catch him and fire him. If he's a thief, he's a thief and will figure out how to steal. You can track the cycles of the manual washdown so if you think he's using more time than he should to clean bays, you...

    Drilling Medeco cam locks

Rob looks like someone who would have only one key to 50 Medeco locks.

    High Security tokens

I would call IDX and see what your best options are with the acceptors you have. You might get by with something unusual like a larger plated token. How do you use tokens? Are they valued at 25¢? Are you dispensing them from your changer? Can you just stop using tokens?

    Employment ad

Since you want someone good, I'd recommend a service like Indeed.

It's not identical but it's as close to the same as they could get without infringing on patents.

    Presoak

I use IBA presoaks in SS, but it's always a high pH chemical. I'm actually using an IBA presoak for high pressure soap now too.

Adding a third membrane to RO system

If you split the output of the pump to the three membranes, you won't. I don't know if you can run all that water through three membranes, and I doubt that would be a good idea. You might have to combine the reject from the three membranes into a 3/4" or 1" pipe back to the pump and come off...

Adding a third membrane to RO system

It would certainly be easier to replace the system, but most new ones are designed so poorly that IMO you'd be better off adding a membrane. I'd recommend going up to a 2 HP pump and setting it up for some of the reject to return to the pump. This increases the output and reduces the reject...
