    Triple foam boom

Sometimes the boom on one side will lay across the other one, but it's not really an issue. As soon as someone grabs the hose of the one underneath it, the other one swings home. In the one I pictured above, there's a stop in the center, but it caused customers to pull so hard on it that...

Dispense two different functions from same foamy coil hose?

I would recommend a delay on the air solenoid so it will blow the last used product out of the hose, then the next selection will fill the hose quickly with minimal mixing.

    New lighting

I bought lights over a year ago and still haven't installed them all. Replacing because old ones are too dim and use four times the electricity and give off half the light as what I'm putting up in their place.

WHAT would you do starting from Scratch ? Blank 12-position rotary Switch

I'd do it: 1: Tire cleaner/Engine degreaser (Signage would state to use these first to give best dwell) 2: Presoak (I wouldn't do bug off since a good presoak should do the job) 3: High pressure soap 4: Tire/wheel brush 5: Foam brush 6: High pressure rinse 7: LP foam conditioner/CCP/Rain-X...

    Triple foam boom

I like the booms set up like this: The trifoam gun is at the front of the bay with the meter box on the same end on the opposite wall. Customers can see and find the gun easily. I've seen washes without a boom, just a coily hose. It works, just not as well as a second low-pressure boom.

How do you handle this situation?

Those scratches are obviously not from any car wash. I've had a similar experience with a customer claiming the foam brush scratched her car. We sent her to our insurance who said we showed no negligence and denied the claim. The crazy lady called and said we took too long and our insurance...

    Anyone use Hydraflex Evo?

I have only a little hands-on experience with Dema MixRite and Dosatron pumps, none of which has been very good. Tire cleaner seems to eat up the Demas, and they haven't been lasting more than a couple years before they stop pulling chemical. My business partner bought a wash that uses them...

What is recommended for "high pressure wax" function in self serve

    Newbie Needed Advise & Guidance

I can only imagine how OP would have handled all the customer issues, messes, vandalisms and break-ins if he had to ask us to be gentle just getting advice.

What is recommended for "high pressure wax" function in self serve

I use Cherry Brite from Scotch Plaid in Dallas (They just got bought out by Sonny's but they said they'll still keep their old line). It's a silicone carnauba blend, and is actually a wax and works very well with a decent show. It's pretty expensive though. I like having two rinse positions...

    Homemade/DIY IDX MX-8?

Have you found one that isn't expensive?

    Homemade/DIY IDX MX-8?

The only difference between using relays or an MX-8 is that you get a 2-second delay on with an MX-8.

    Air Shamee's fuses

I strongly recommend keeping the fuses. The breaker may trip from one motor, but it may not trip fast enough to keep something from melting or catching on fire. You'll probably have to replace the fuse holder. Get a really good one. They probably used one rated to the minimum, but I use one...

    Newbie Needed Advise & Guidance

No. You need a hard dose of reality. It is funny because they are the people who fail, who think they can make it work despite advice from the many of us who have made a run-down car wash highly profitable. They repeatedly come here, ask if it's a good investment, they're told it's not, they...

Anyone have a remote shut off

To stop a CC transaction, yes. Most timers will also clear time on power loss, but Dixmor saves it. The only way to clear it remotely is to hold the coin circuit closed.

Anyone have a remote shut off

I don't know what it was either, nor did I look into it or save the link. I just mentioned it so whoever originally brought it up might see this and speak up.

Anyone have a remote shut off

The Dixmor time can be cleared by holding the coin signal closed for two seconds. Someone has posted about a remote system that can do the rest.
