    Tire shine

Another thing I like about the Viper unit is the few parts that do have a (very long) life span like tape switches and solenoid valves are off the shelf parts.

    Tire shine

For my situation where I prefer not to monitor another item on a regular basis to see if any tweaks are needed and I prefer not to have to delegate this to anyone the extra cost per application is well worth the equipment savings and hands off long term operation.

    Tire shine

When they first camee out I went to see them at the ICA show. With 4 EE Tunnels I was looking for the lease maintenance intensive unit. Bought a Viper unit. After a 6 month test at one location I bought 3 more. After hearing maintenance issues with all the pad type units I am glad this...

Have you calculated your cost per car for these HP applications including water and electricity? I think my wheel blasters were about 10 cents per car, as was my top blaster.

My $15 per month internet solution for CryptoPay

Do you have to have static IP for video? Comcast is telling me I need this and will be charged more for the static IP address.

My $15 per month internet solution for CryptoPay

All in fees for Cryptopay is about 5.5%. That is all fees, including other stuff like interchange fees all clearing houses charge. So, I am not sure what the Cryptopay portion is.

Hot Water for High Pressure Applications

Like washing anything else, the warmer water will be more effective in absorbing cleaning solutions and dissolving grime.

    Fire department

I would go this route. Something like "While I am happy to be of service to the department, it is really not right for them to leave this mess customers / members of the community and I to deal with."

    Chemical question

I may be wrong but I think the millenials are much less in tune with brands of auto care products than the boomers are / were. seems to have been a trend for a while.

    In Bay Hand blowers

I think this was addressed on this forum a while ago. Mr. Hoffman does this at his SS wash. Forgot the details. I think he regulated the air down to 45 psi or so and he runs twin compressors, but they may also serve other functions like IBA or tunnel, I don't recall.

    Tunnel pre-rinse

Jon, Couple questions. 1. Do you use all the HP on all washes or is it different for different wash levels. 2. Is there a particular issue each of the HP functions serve? Wheels are a common issue. What issue is addressed with the side Blasters and HP Rinse? Inherited a place with a...

Well two weeks in the car wash business, Now two washes?????

The trick for us is to get locks out with as little collateral damage as possible so you can replace them easily (Thanks Randy) . With the right tool it's less than 10 minutes per medeco and you will be able to pop new ones right in. Didn't see photos of coin boxes so I can't say.

Should I go with count up or count down with Cryptopay in my bays?

When I got into the SS Biz I asked a guy from the local assoc about disputes with customers about things like this. His basic answer was "I give them a refund, they did not have a problem when they came to my place and they should not have a problem when they leave" I tend to follow this...

Tire Shine and Armor All on Rims

I don't see how it's possible to have a machine apply TS and cover 100% of all the different size tires and not touch the rim. When it comes to "Shine" I don't think a "Satin Finish" offers the needed attraction.

    Tunnel pre-rinse

Right now it's neutral (KR Triple foam soap at 600/1) but I may play around with low PH and in some seasons eliminate the pre soak. FWIW I have found double wraps essential to get backs of vehicles reasonably clean without the need to prep.

Could always do 1 IBA and allow for a second later if demand warrants it, providing adequate spce and rough ins etc.

Self Serve Customers are driving me to drink

Lots of good points. FWIW I think my wobbleheads are going on 3 years. Changed the brushes a couple of times - No failures. Perhaps others can share their experience. Signage helps when the wiseacre says "Where is the sign? " and you can point to it.

Self Serve Customers are driving me to drink

    1. Do you have signs posted to the effect that "USe of Facilities / equip while time is not running on meter is "Theft of Services". 2. I have noted thru experience that unless they think "WIFM"(what's in it for me) telling them something like this has little positive impact. Insrtead...

    Tunnel pre-rinse

I put on a low PH Pre soak with Slight air injection before foam soaps. Tried without this and Faom blew out of channels at the end. The pre soak also helps the foam run down the side of the car. As opposed to just putting foam on a dry car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le8ldby8q2g
