    CarWash Consignment

I bought a gantry for my D&S 5000 last year and a couple IVS vacs this year and all went very well. trying to sell my Super 5000 on there without a lot of luck but that is likely the nature of that beast. I found them good to work with and no complaints. What may have happened is someone sold...

    Help me break in!!

If you can wedge the cap screw (allen bolt) for some resistance, then take a dremel tool with a good carbide bit and make the hex hole rounder and deeper till the outer part of teh cap screw breaks off then the cover/drawer etc will come off so you can fix it. It might work. never tried it, but...

Buying second car wash near my first

I don't see how you could go wrong, you'll probably get your money worth in equipment, at least have enough to keep both washes running for years if he salvaged 7 other washes. Unless this is in Arkansas, then you really don't want it. Just put me in touch with the seller LOL.

    D&s 5000

Had this too. you can sometimes see the red leds on the programmable control flicker, the prox switch should flicker steadily while gantry is moving, if the leds for the photocells flicker while in motion, you have bad connection. We had a couple, replaced the umbilical cable and every crimped...

Tankless water heater water pressure drop....

Found a manual online, it appears each of your PH24 has about 3 gpm capacity. 3/4 is the correct size pipe for that heater. The colder the water coming in, and the higher the temp you have it set for the longer the water has to be in the burner. the heater restricts flow to maintain temperature...

6 SS Bay for First Investment

7K taxes on a 90,000 property seems outrageous! What is it assessed at? Is it high dollar dirt under the wash? You may be able to get it assessed lower based on your purchase price. Also debt service on 90K (or more if you try to get some improvement money) will be about 9000 or more in a year...

Running hot and cold to SS pumps

6 SS Bay for First Investment

I bought a 4 bay with automatic in town of 2500. Added cryptopay and credit cards are about 25% of our monthly sales, but mostly in the automatic. We don't sell quarters, only tokens, and almost 60% of our cash intake is still quarters... The cryptopay system has been great. we did lower our...

Running hot and cold to SS pumps

Thanks, so it is correct with the solenoid on the cold which makes sense if it is NC. I should move the hot water to the same side as the cold water and the soap wax feeds. there are check valves at the the hot water tank on the line to each pump. It seemed odd to expect enough draw on the soap...

Running hot and cold to SS pumps

Replacing the tank system on our second wash. I have hot water plumbed to my Etowah valley low pressure tank rack. The pumps are fed from both sides of the manifold/head. one side has a solenoid valve wired to the rinse cycle, this side also has the lines feeding HP soap and HP wax. I do not...

Best way to heat overhead trough

I didn't have any problems melting the poly lines in the 3 inch sewer PVC, maybe I got lucke? Here is what I used. the trough on the roof was already set up with this same stuff, I added it to the high bays: www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-29219-easyheat-freeze-free-cable.aspx

Best way to heat overhead trough

I use easy heat heat cable. no problems last winter, it was a mile winter. I have 2 bays and an automatic running through an insulated trough on the roof and 2 bays using 3" sewer pipe running under the roof in the high bays with heat cable I run it out and around the manifold blocks above the...

    Average water use D&S 5000?

thanks, Thats what I did, the answer is about 70 gallons on top wash and 50 on basic so about 60 gallons per cycle average. Last months tax was only 9.00 and I have saved well over 100 on sales taxes on things that would have been taxable so the whole deal seems like a win, other than another...

    Oil or water based fragrance?

Just the kind of advice I was looking for, I hadn't thought of that. It only takes a few seconds to spry fragrance, but could take a long time to shampoo... shampoo goes to the side drive and fragrance out in front of the bays!

    Oil or water based fragrance?

My other vac is a "carpet wizard", wonder which one I should put in front, and which on the side?

    Oil or water based fragrance?

I have two vac islands and 3 bays, On is right out in front on the main road, the other is beside the wash on the side road so vac visability is good, whether anyone wants to buy the spritz will be the question.
