    ICA Show Review

Ric, the way I understand it the answer is "yes"! They want your business. You tell them that you are ordering from the show special with whatever deals you want and the free freight. You're entitled to one order so make sure you don't leave anything out because the second order will come...

    How to dry coins

If one of the bags are wet we use a hair dryer. We stick the nozzle in the bag, and roll the bag around. have been doing this for a long time and it works fine. It heats the coin up and evaporates rather quickly. Although we use a Brandt sorter to run our coin through and it separate...

    Laurel Tire Foam Dispenser

We have the tire foam vendors at all of our locations. As you load it you put the first can with the cap to the right and the next one to the left and carry it on thru til it is full. It's really a good product for the car wash and the vendor should work well for you.

    Video over twisted pair

I just started playing with the Baluns about a month ago and have bought a bunch from acitve-vision.com also. I bench tested them because I really didn't understand how they worked. The baluns are made for long distances, but when you can use the Cat5 wire, I also tried using our spare carwash...

Ring O Matic 1000T ceramic slick bed

Diana I don't know how pricey it is, but I would think ceramic would be pretty efficient in dumping the product. I have a Ring-o-Mat pumper (probably over 25 years and it's great), but we have to use high pressure with a straight shot to cut it loose with the tank lifted as high as it will go...

Is the ICA squeezing its members?

I've been going to the shows for years, however I have missed the past 2 years because of health. I would disagree with Robert in this respect. I very rarely bought at the shows because they were too busy. I went to see what is there and to keep up to date with what the industry and fellow...

    Doyle Vacuums

Are they the faceplates that use the Wilson Bohannon pin lock, or is it the money door only that uses that lock? Also are you looking for steel or stainless steel. I may have some in my warehouse if you can put up a pic of what you're looking for.

    Help with water containment

You haven't said anything about talking to the city regarding permitting & use permits. From the sound of your question you haven't and that's where you will find the answers to your question. I would doubt very much that this could happen without building what any car wash operator would be...

Cat 310 - Water in the Oil

Bubbles you haven't indicated whether the crankcase was full, or half full or 3/4 full with the sight glass. If it is still in the center of the red dot then that would be moisture and no reason to change the crankcase oil seals. If it is above that mark then then it would be important to...

Cat 310 - Water in the Oil

Your Crank case oil seals should be replaced if you're getting water in the crank case. If your oil is milky white but NOT increasing in volume in the crank case then that would be from moisture in the room. Look @ the glass gauge on the back of the pump to see if the oil/water is above the...

    Banks calling good loans

It's interesting to me that loans were out there with balloon payments. I've been in the car wash business for going on 47 years and I am certainly not rich, but during our growth I never received a loan with a balloon. Over that period of time I've been offered various types of notes but my...

    Clearing drain stoppages

We have never used the rotating jetter, but a few years ago I had a sewer cleaning company offer to clean all our drain lines at all of our locations with a heavy duty jetter and then video to show us that they had been done. I think he charged us $1,000. bucks to do it and they did a good job...

    Clearing drain stoppages

Duane, We use the jetter to clear our lines. To make things a little easier Julie (my daughter) uses a 4 or 5' piece of conduit bent 45 degrees so she doesn't have to get down on the ground in the bay to shoot the line. The service truck carries a couple of 50' x 1/4" HP hose with the Jetter...

    ACW and Vacuum Break-in’s

Randy shoot me the photos by email. 5 of our changers were hit over the new year week-end. Didn't get much because we empty the currency but they sure screwed up the Mars Validators. We lost 3 that I will send to Jim to see if they are salvageable or boat anchors. Interesting what they did...

bay works good only with manual key in

Water supply is there when he uses his key to turn the bay on so my thought would be electrical. Look for loose screws on the rotary switch; check the wires in the bundle to the rotary switch. If they go to a terminal board in the coin box then check that also. Look closely if there any of...
