    New Tunnel Coming...

Greg, I implemented a monthly wash program at my washes but never really got enough volume to make it worth while. I am still offering a prepaid wash card setup but even that has fallen off to the tunnel wash monthly subscriptions. My SS business has stayed as strong as ever. The first year or 2...

    new razor

Glad you got it in and working. I know you have been planning it for a long time. You are getting double the price I get through my touchless washes but in your market I think you have to. Looks real nice. Hope your chemicals are still cleaning well for you.

Anchor them to the wall at a slight angle so gravity naturally pulls them bqack to the wall.

    Award Winning Car Wash Customers

Last night I went by one of my washes and a pickup was parked in the bay. The pickup was running and in a very poor state of tune. Just walking into the bay I could smell the raw unburned gas and knew the bay was full of CO. I tapped on the window to wake the guy who had passed out in the seat...

I bought the cube heater at a local electrical supply house a few years ago.

    Bent Ryko Brush Shaft

They used to have clutches on the rear arms to prevent this. Don't know if it still a option.

    Drying quarters

I bought a very small cube heater that sits above quarter hoppers. It works well in the wilds of Idaho on my coin changers. Dries the quarters and keeps the coin shoots open when I get cold driving snow that will sometimes block them. Otherwise I use the large towel method.

    Heads up methenol shortage

Just went to our local distributor and they told us they are out of methenol and there is a national shortage. No idea when they will get more in. Looks like RV antifreeze for a while for cold weather foam brush.

    Korean "Car Culture" Car Washes

I put in a tire shine machine a couple years ago. It ended up attracting the Ricer car enthusiasts. They started to use the wash as a meeting point on friday and saturday nights. They would hang out and block everything up and 2 or 3 would shine their tires. The 2 or 3 hours of congestion was...

Do you run softwater to all cycles?

It depends on the hardness of your water if you want to use soft water for all functions. If I did not run hard water rinse I would be buying pallets of salt each month. 22 grains of hardness here makes it unprofitable to run a soft water rinse.

    Would stronger presoak help this?

The chlorine will eat your RO membranes if you have any. Presoak should be put on with soft water. A good soft water system should also include a carbon filter tank to remove the chlorine. I would first start as suggested by titrating your presoak to see if you are getting the right amount of...

    Hot water storage failed

If you do solder the copper remember that the solder will flow towards the heat so don't apply the heat right at the joint but to the side of it until it heats up then apply the solder to the joint. I like to use Maff gas as it burns hotter and work on the larger pipe sizes better.

Having the holes or notches actually improves the vacuum performance.

KR also sells a bundle with a few more wires for a little more. I always use it so I have plenty of extra wires.

I use a cuff and usually use silicone to lock the cuff on the hose or the customer will unscrew them off the end of the hose.
