Ryko Soft Gloss Maxx 5 - reviews

The "connected solution" will be at ICA through a portal and app. New units are shipping with the components to bring a machine online. Initially, the connected solution will include machine status notifications, diagnostics codes/sequences with descriptions and counts with future updates to...

Ryko Soft Gloss Maxx 5 - reviews

No, our PLC programmer for the SGMX5 has been with us for several years, and is still writing the code. I'm glad to hear you are satisfied and that it's cleaning well!

SoftGloss hp Wheel & Tire cleaner issue...

For the elbows where the nozzles are mounted, those are all supposed to be set to an angle of about 30 degrees in the same direction. As that manifold is supposed to be free spinning, it's rotated by the inertia generated from the angle of the nozzles. If someone has straightened them so they...

    Ryko foambrite softgloss problem

At the MAC panel on the right side of the machine, turn off the air going to the machine, then dump the residual air from the system. Does the TB drop? It should drop completely. If not, I'd suspect you have either a bind in the bearings, or something catching on the counterweight to prevent...

Softgloss front brushes not folding in

I don't know what vintage machine you have, but if it's one with an FX3U PLC and there are arming options for a "onboard drive thru dry" that can be added to each individual package. If it's intermittent, does it follow a specific wash package? If so, just turn off that arming bit for that...

You can use roll-bar padding from someplace like Summit motorsports, Jeggs, or Speedway motors. Just check on the ID before you purchase.

Softgloss front brushes not folding in

It sounds like your tire photoeye PLC input X20 isn't transitioning properly. In the brush sequences, as the machine travels reverse, it's monitoring that set of photoeyes so it will decelerate properly when they detect the rear tires and slow the machine down while it washes around the rear of...

    Short Bay friction wash options

If you go with on-board dry, and you have 30'-6" free and clear space, a Softgloss MAXX would be able to wash up to an 18'-6" long vehicle completely (top brush coming off the back of an SUV). Slightly longer on sedans. You should be able to wash longer vehicles with a 5 brush as the machine...

    Residential garage door opener

I replaced my Genie about 5 years ago and put in a Liftmaster. Not sure model, but it's belt drive and similar to the 8550WLB they have today. It's been reliable for me so far, and I do like the battery backup. The batteries don't seem to last more than 2 years, but it's helpful when the...

    Bent Ryko Brush Shaft

On the older machines, the clutched portion was the upper half to help prevent grabbing antennas or mirrors. For the lower portion, I agree with the comments above where it's most likely tangling into a rear trailer hitch or similar. You may want to ensure the rear arms are level though as if...

It could also be a loose connector in the j-box on the dryer where the inbound cable connects.

    Photoeye sensor problem

If your emitter and receivers are mounted on different height stands, make sure the receiver is the one mounted high and angled down towards the emitter. Many sites have the receiver looking "up", and the sunlight will affect those.

    Ryko Presoak issue

If you remove the polytube from the top of the blue-white pump, put your finger over the top and run it using the manual switch. If both check valves (inlet and outlet) are good, you won't be able to hold back the pressure. If either is bad or needs cleaned, you will be able to hold it back...

Use a small flat blade screwdriver (1/8" or less) into the square hole below where the wire is. It should insert about 3/8" or so. Slightly tip your screwdriver away from the wire, and it should release.

    Ryko 784-A/R-784.

There are still a handful of those around, as well as the even older Model 4 and 5. Those were before my time, but I believe there were actually 4 versions of the R784. Those models often had saddle tank for detergent/wax, and they had the electrical and pneumatic panels on the same side and...

    Ryko Softgloss top brush issue

It is simple. You may want to split a piece of hose or something so the zip tie doesn't cut into the hose.

    Ryko Softgloss top brush issue

I agree with Slash. It could also be the needle valve on the TB air cylinder used to soften the lift so it doesn't have hard contact when it raises. If that needle valve setting has moved, it could be set too restrictive.
