Issue with Slugbuster II Model PEM 55E - Coins keep getting stuck

An 11" cable tie. I'll take some pictures of where I put it.

    Issues with a new SecureCoin

I had an old Slugbuster II and tried tightening the spring as instructed by Linda Parker, and after dropping a couple hundred dollar coins, foreign coins, and tokens through it I wasn't able to get any to punch through the gate. Meanwhile, the SecureCoin that originally didn't work has been...

Issue with Slugbuster II Model PEM 55E - Coins keep getting stuck

I'll take 'em. I figured out a way to keep them shut and still have them "EZ."

Finally a credit card reader that accepts tap and chip cards

Why? PCI compliance is optional. When I worked for a distributor up to 2019, we were suddenly getting dinged for $600 a year for PCI compliance on a dial-up device. It doesn't get more compliant than that. We just refused to pay it, and they took it off the bill.

Finally a credit card reader that accepts tap and chip cards

Why is there a PCI fee? Is the equipment not PCI compliant?

How to Improve Triple Foam Delivery

I use a 2540 tip, very high volume and a fairly narrow fan. A lot of what makes triple foam apply well is the foam generator. You don't want it as thick as foam brush or you won't get the volume your customer needs to cover their car in a reasonable time. I've watched people at other washes...

    Biz Opp…!

If you can find a good detailer, it's win-win. I've seen it work out, it's just unlikely to in my experience. I'm looking at doing it at an underperforming wash, but I'll be super picky about it. They'll have to keep the wash clean, they'll have strict rules about not stealing away our...

    Motor starter problem

You need to check voltage from "hot" to "common." Car wash voltage is two legs of 12 volts that read 12v to ground but 24v across the terminals. Read voltage across the contactor inputs (A1 and A2) for 24v. If you have that, the contactor's coil is bad.

Issue with Slugbuster II Model PEM 55E - Coins keep getting stuck

The coins might not be making their way out of the acceptor and into the tube for the safe. I usually have to cut a little off the bottom or I'll have consistent jams.

Clarification on Car Stacking Requirements for Car Wash

I always did things the other way around, but if I had stuck to that I wouldn't have a car wash now.

Car wash business with a Full Time job

I ran a wash for seven years while I also had a full-time job. For about three years I spent about 20 hours a week at the wash while I got it on its feet and really profitable. It was exhausting and I did almost nothing but work at my job (typically about 60 hours a week) and the wash. Having...

Saving this '02 Taurus clear coat

Maaco doesn't do a very good paint job for the money. The $699 job looks like my ass and won't last five years.

    Rookie Needing Help

The Kondor won't have foam generators for the presoak. It uses the same line and nozzles for presoak and high pressure. You have a chemical and/or adjustment issue.

The last time I had a good laugh while at my self serve I was ____________________________________________________

It doesn't. About 25 years ago I pulled up to a wash I was running and some people were shooting a video in a bay with a car and three women in bikinis. They were the only ones spending money, the other five bays had cars in them and everyone was standing around watching the shoot.

    Rookie Needing Help

It needs air so the presoak will stick to the car, otherwise it will just run off. I'm familiar with the Belanger Vector, not so much the Kondor. IMO you should start with ditching super concentrated presoak so you can clean cars. They're primarily foaming agents, dyes, and fragrance, and...

    Motor Starters

I use Siemens parts 3RT20241AC20 (Contactor) and 3RU21261KB0 (Thermal overload), good for up to 5 HP motors. You should be able to find the pair for under $80. I mount them on DIN rail.
