    cat pump probs continue

Inspect the incoming check valve. After a few years, the spring will corode a bit, and get hung up on the check. This keeps it from fully opening. When I install new checks, I also always replace the hose. I also changed my incoming to 3/4 inch from 1/2 inch. I also use a 3/4 check. This...

When did the ICA leadership change hands? Did I miss the memo?

    Credit Card Chargebacks

When you gas up with a cc, there is no sig. Ask someone who owns a gas station how they handle it. I have used video once to dispute the chargeback. Once the person found I had video, they dropped the chargeback case. Go figure??

    Problems with Flojet G57 Pumps

Send them back to your vendor. If it is Kleen-Rite, I have had no problems with them--just call them to get an RMA#. The production date is in the first part of the serial number. It has an 07 or 08 (year) with a single letter. The letter equals the month. A=January, B= February and so on.

    Problems with Flojet G57 Pumps

First Mexico; now China. Wonderful!! Like I said, send them back under warranty (16 months from production). They will get the message soon. I have not paid for a flo-jet in three years- all warrantied.

    Methanol Foam Brush Soap

Thanks Kirb. I knew there had to be a reason, otherwise everyone would be doing it. I am just looking for a better solution than the expensive methanol, as I am sure most people try.

    Problems with Flojet G57 Pumps

Copperglobe: do a thread search on: flojet; then visit the post that says methanol pump. This issue is discussed there. Bottom line is yes there is an issue---they are now made in Mexico. Remember warranty is 16 months from production. Send them back.

    Methanol Foam Brush Soap

I read on another post (which I can not find at the moment) that some operators purge out with windshield washer fluid. Is there any reason not to make my own winter soap product with a 55 of windshield washer fluid and a 5 gal of foam bruah soap? Does anyone know if there is anything harmful...

    Looking for an automatic....and info

Mercedes book says they prefer touchless; right after that is says do not use caustic chemicals. Would most touchless chem combinations be considered caustic? The Mercedes dealer in my area has an automatic wash that they run EVERY single car through when it is serviced, plus their new...

    Looking for an automatic....and info

If you are attended, go with friction. It is a better cleaning job. I have five Nu*Star soft touch machines. They use the closed cell foam (like Neoglide). No scratching, very minimal damage (mirror here and there, wiper blade, too). I say attended because brushes need to be checked daily...

    Paystation

I have 7 of those with CoinCo validators. They none will accept cash when the cc option is selected. Strange. Not much help for your issue.

    cat 623 problem

I suggest checking your inlet line. If your inlet hose is old, the hot water will soften it enough that it may be sucking itself inward; whereas the cold sort of re-hardens it. This will cause that water starvation. The 623 sucks a lot of water. I use 3/4 feed line on all my 623s---this...

    what oil for cat pumps

I agree with Randy. I have been in the biz since '94, and have always used CAT oil. Why does it seem a lot of people want to use something else? I have 310s, 623's, 823's, and 5cps. I change the oil every 8-10 months religiously. No problems.

    Methanol Pump

You are only opening a single solenoid that would be on the air supply to all three low pressure functions. I will place the valve right at the air compressor, I think. You will use a multiplexer to open the air to the pumps only. You are not opening the individual solenoids to each bay.

    Methanol Pump

I will not need to add anything. I will use the timed hot from the timers in my equipment room. All my timers are GS-401s, located in my equipment rooms in a master panel. Easy....

    Methanol Pump

I will just use it on the main air line feeding all three Flo-Jets. One 1/2 inch feed goes to skid, then splits into three 3/8" lines to each Flo-Jet. When a bay times up- solenoid open, when time goes off- solenoid closes.

    Methanol Pump

When a line breaks?? That never happens in a car wash. Actually that is good advice, Bill. I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and spend a few bucks. After a bit of thought, I would really only need one soleniod with one multiplexer. I will kill the air to all three low pressure...

    Methanol Pump

Yes, I am using the G57. Most time, they start leaking a significant amount of air between cycles. Some will partially pump--sort of like half of the cycle is missing. Some leak fluid out the muffler. This is on tire cleaner, pre-soak, and foam brush. Not one chemical more than another...

    Methanol Pump

Are any of you guys having any problems with the Flo-Jets failing?? The ones made in Mexico have only been lasting me 8-12 months once installed. I have four washes, and this happens at all but one. That one has the original A-OK equipment Flo-Jets--Made in the USA- 11 years old. Fortunatley...

    Economy affect on Car Wash

Has anyone had car washes around them close? I have had two in my area close. One was very near me (1/2 mile), and I did not even see a pop from that. That is pretty sad when you don't even notice (sales wise) that a competing wash has closed.
