Pro/Cons of removing regulator on FB

I always remove the regulator on a Coleman system when it fails. The Procon has an internal popoff that they say should not be used as a regulator, but without a bypass regulator on the output the internal one is always working anyway. When you remove the one on the manifold, you just use the...

Thickness and angle of bay cement

No, I'll try to remember next time I'm there. I will put a second tape measure in the van right now.

    Question for nayax users...

How did you wire the Nayax readers to send pulses to the timer? Does the Nayax have a relay output to do that?

Fuse keeps blowing on foam brush

The coils won't blow the fuse supplying power to a Procon pump's motor. It would only blow the fuse for the control voltage to that bay with a bad coil.

    Bill validator repair or replacement?

You might find a rebuilt one on eBay, just look for a seller with a really high feedback score. It'll probably cost $350 or more. There is a new MEI unit that will replace the Mars IIRC.

    Bay timer alarm

There is a standard Dixmor horn that's pretty loud. Some of my bays have a "warble" horn I used to get from Radio Shack. It's so freakin' loud it hurts my ears if it goes off with the meter door open. I need to order a few from Mouser or Digikey to see if I can find one as good.

    New Biz Insurance

I looked into Midlothian insurance discounted through SCWA, and it was $5,500 a year.

Fuse keeps blowing on foam brush

They put 6 amp in them, maybe because at the pressure they recommend it shouldn't ever exceed that. I don't know where you saw it calling for 15 amp, but if it's factory marked on the fuse holder that's probably the biggest fuse it can handle.

    Best Vending Machine/System

I'd stick with Laurel unless you're thinking about a glass-front vendor.

    First time Investor

Don't worry about biying the business if it's run down. Make him an offer based on property value. We jave been trying to het two run-down washes in a small town, one of which has been closed since the freeze in 2001, and they still want an amount baded on what it used to make. We will mot...

Fuse keeps blowing on foam brush

Sorry, I didn't check. I had tried the 10 amp after the original 6 amps started blowing, figured it would be okay since the motor is rated 8 FLA. I'm sure I ordered some 8 amp slow blow from either Mouser or Digikey, but I can't find them.

    Replacement LED driver/ballast

I don't know how well this will fit in an LSI fixture, but it's certainly a lot less than $500. I have the same brand of lights and have installed them in two other washes, and they've been completely problem-free.

Fuse keeps blowing on foam brush

I've seen it happen over and over. I don't know why it starts blowing fuses, but it does. It seems completely random, it might pop the fuse immediately after I change it, or it might work for a week or a month or a year. The last wash I looked after that had Coleman equipment did the same...

    Question for nayax users...

Someone is confusing count-up and count-down wiring. You do need a relay to run count down.

Can I get a layman's understanding of what is going on here?

That appears to be a system to run the spot-free rinse through the high pressure pump at a reduced pressure. The unit to the right in the circle is an Erie Motortrol valve that switches the water source between city water and spot-free. The solenoid opens when spot-free is selected to allow...

    Intermittent loss of pressure

Whenever I've had a PR-1000A fail it doesn't regulate the water pressure, it just sends it straight through and the pump doesn't draw soap or wax anymore. It won't affect the pressure. The switch could be failing and not opening the rinse solenoid. There are typically two outputs, one for...
