Anyone else feeling the sting of the economy

It depends on the city and the restriction stage. I just read Austin's restrictions and I don't think they control commercial car washing anymore. IIRC that was changed because someone brought proof to the city that car washes use about 10% of the water that a typical restaurant does, and they...

    New owner need your help

This is probably your weep check valve. The quickest way to check it is to remove the tubing from the fitting and run the pump. There are most likely more at the boom that can go bad and cause this problem, you would check them the same way.

    Intermittent loss of pressure

Might still be the rotary switch. Test the rinse solenoid with a screwdriver, you should feel a magnetic pull when you hold it just above the coil. If you have this failure again, check the coil with a screwdriver (You can also use a voltmeter to check for power, the screwdriver is faster)...

    Another newbie in TX question...

I've serviced a lot of car washes there. The company I used to work for built several and installed equipment in several. I still supply parts and chemicals to three washes there. I've been in San Antonio once a month for almost 30 years. I used to make sales calls and have tried to help a...

Last timeI dealt with a Coleman unit I just bypassed the fuses. I had replaced them with slow-blow but after a while those started blowing too.

    Intermittent loss of pressure

If it's only on rinse, it's one of two things. Next time it happens, look at the contactor while it's on but no pressure. If it's buzzing, try to push it in. If it goes in and stays, you have too much current draw for the low voltage wiring. If it's not buzzing and you can press in the...

Anyone else feeling the sting of the economy

It's been a long, hot and dry summer. I'm aurprised business is up. Thankfully the city has improved both water storage and production or we might be under restrictions.

These relays are probably chattering because you're running 24v AC to something that needs DC.

    Another newbie in TX question...

San Antonia is a tough place for car washes. There are a lot of them, and some areas have one on every other block because they were severely overbuilt in the 90's. Those parts of the city aren't growing and are lower income. Most of the people selling are asking way more than it's worth and...

    Ryko Signature Series problem

It won't be a solenoid. There's most likely a check valve on the soap and wax lines to prevent this problem that has gone bad. Rinse water is under pressure and will force its way through the solenoids and into the tanks.

Need solid advice……on rehab of wash

Make sure everything works really well, give plenty of soaps, test everything every day, and keep it clean. Your price doesn't matter as much as giving a good value does.

    Hydrominder ULD?

FWIW I've made my own "ultra lean" setup and have never had a problem with tip clogging, which is usually caused by the chemical.

    Help Identifying these Values

It's not coming up in a search for me, but it's a 3/32" orifice valve with 1/8" ports, 250 MOPD. I use 1/4 to 1/8 reducer nipples to a 1/4" brass manifolds and 1/8" NPT to 3/8" tubing elbows on the outlet. You can get 1/4" port ones but they're about $100 each.
