    heat for self serve trough

I have only had to replace 2 fluid lines in 15 years between 4 locations. I can find which line it is by turning on each function in a bay a looking for the drip out of the electrical boxes. When I find the line I buy a new line and hook the new one to the old bad one with a coupler and pull it...

Fund Raiser Competition Sick & Tired Of It!

The WCA website has a few good ideas for doing charity wash programs. A few ideas are donating a SS bay for the charity to use. I like to let them sell my wash tokens for the automatic. I let them keep 1/2 and I keep the other 1/2 to cover expenses.

    heat for self serve trough

I am in Idaho right next to Grand Teton Park and Yellowstone. I get the heat cable at my local electrical wholesaler. They have several grades but the one I get is called winter guard wet by Raytheon. It has more insulation than some of the other grades. You buy it in length and add the ends. It...

    heat for self serve trough

My trough system is made out of 4 inch pvc pipe. I connect them together with pvc fittings except in the bays where I use large electrical boxes. The pipe goes into the boxes and then I make all my hose connections in the electrical box with a latching lid. I use Raytheon heat cable called...

    People getting change

I mix a few of my own tokens in with the quarters. They are valued at .25 cents also. If the get a few every time they get change they either have to redeem them at my wash or throw them away. I make money either way.

    Low Temp Mixing Valve?

I run my water heaters at 140 and use a mixing valve to change the temp down to 120. I just replaced the 1 inch valve and the cost was $110. The cost is really not that much for the vavle and it extends the amount of hot water you have availible on busy days.

I have written several articles for various car wash publication and not once did I ever expect to receive any compensation for it. The industry has been very good to me and I like to give back. FRP panels without silicone?

I have installed both FRP and a product called Polymax from a company called Farmtech. The poly max board is a little cheaper but you have to have it shipped in. It goes up the same as FRP. I think the polymax is easier to clean and looks better once it is up. Farm tech also sells a system...

    ACW4 Display Options / Ideas??

I have taken the area where the read out is and cut out the plastic and put in real glass. It makes it easier to read. I have also sent in the controller and had new digital signs put in because they go dim after a few years. Hamilton may have the displays now so you can change them out...

    Best Way to wash Microfibers?

Most people say that you should not use any detergent on towels used for drying or detailing. It coats the absorbancy of the towel. On cotton towels you can use bleach on the first couple of washings to remove the lubrications put on the cotton during manufacture and to open up the fibers. Do...

    acw out of service

I think it is trying to calibrate the bill validator and the sensors are not with in guidelines. Try opening the bill path and cleaning all the sensors. If that does not work depending on which validator you have you might be able to do a calibration with a blank peice of paper.

    Loud music complaints...what to do?

I walk out and tell them I don't mind the music but I point out that there are apartments across the way and they call the police when they hear the loud music. I then point out the camaras and tell them that the cops use them to identify who is responsible. It kind of lets them know that even...

I also have the etowah valley bay boxes. I added them in March. SO far the bill accpetance in the bay runs about 32% of bills in the bay compared to the bills through the changer. WCA Show at Bally's in Las Vegas, September 22-24, 2008

I think the WCA show has maintained its numbers by a percentage better than any other show. It is still the most attended regional show and being the only show in Vegas this year should help numbers. Also the new location at Bally's will be great draw.
