    Ryko 2001 OHD gone insane

Whenever I get a problem like this it almost always traces back to a bad wire or connection. You can replace the boom wire for $40 or the cat track wire for under $20. I always keep a spare roll of multi colored wire around just for this purpose.

Tri-Gloss in SS Bays - Is it worth it?

I switched my trifoam systems out to dispense RainX in the bays instead. I was not getting much use of the trifoam. You can buy systems from Kleenrite or Etowah valley for not much money if you want to add trifoam.

    Please wait!!! Carwash busy

This used to happen to me all the time when I had a ACW4. My problem occured when the car waiting would push and hold the wash selction button at the same time the signal from the wash was being sent signalling it was ready for another wash. Selecting the wash at the same time canceled out the...

Looking for a Great, Safe Tar Remover.

I know the people who actually haul the hot tar use a orange peel based product to remove tar from their trucks. If you can find a asphalt supply company I bet they have the best stuff you can get. Just find out where they are getting their product and buy the same.

Opinions on new high pressure automatic

I have several Ryko OHds that I like. They now call them Radius. This spring they were running a special of $59,995 installed for a machine with trifoam, wax, 2 step presoak etc. IT did not include the dryer or auto cashier. I have been running them for over 6 years and it seems like a great...

    Red lights on Ryko

Ice cube relays are availible form local electrical supply houses. Grainger, Johnstone supply are a couple that have them or can get them. I have a old store in town that has Vacuum tubes and old parts for radios and TVs from the 50s up and they stock them.

Can anyone comment on KR In-Bay Presoak

It depends on which presoak you buy from Kleenrite as to who makes it. THe 1B comes in simoniz barrels with no private labels.

Customers Who Bring Their Own Chemicals

I had 2 different people yesterday sitting in the SS bays after washing drying their cars. All the bays were full with people waiting. I asked them kindly to pull out to dry their cars. One did so and one copped an attitude about it. This would be the same as going to a drive thru window at...

    Scum

Throw some penny's or copper pipe into the bottom of your tanks. It should help retard the scum growth. The other thing to do is to clean the tanks using a good chlorine bleach solution.

    Compressor pump rebuild

Back when I sold tires we had lots of compressors. The Curtis compressors we had were not very good compared to a quincy or ingersol rand. I would not bother fixing a curtis.

How many cars do you wash per month in your IBA?

Jim, you bring up a good point about electicity demand. Some operators who are running autos may want to do the following to lower their peak demand. If you have stand alone dryers you can probably set your auto up so that it won't start the next wash until the dry cycle is done. That way you...

    Air Freshener Bubbler display

    "Your brush scratched my car!"

I have had this happen a couple of times and this is how I handle it. I pull my own car right into the bay. Then I clean the brush like the instructions say and go about washing my car with the same brush right in front of the person. Then I rinse off my car and ask them to show me the scratches...

Customers Who Bring Their Own Chemicals

If other people are waiting to get in I would say something to them. It is just common courtesy for those waiting. If they balk at you and go on doing it I would just turn the bay off so when they want to use it it won't work and then they have to move to a different bay and wait.
