A few more Foam brush questions

What's leaking are the steel fittings someone used between the stack of tees and the solenoids. You could hook the weep up to the foam brush with a tee on the liquid tube line to the bay. You'd need check valves to keep the foam brush from backing up into the other bays' lines.

Need a new bay pump motor

I've bought and installed probably 50 Baldor motors in the last five years and have had no issues with them. They've finally gotten their quality control back. I get them (182T 3HP 3PH, EM3211T) from a local motor sales place for $360.

    Paraplate Regulator

In my experience, pretty close to the same life. If you look at just life of the regulators compared to the cost, the SMC comes out ahead. Yes, the SMC uses a spring. I mentioned earlier that in my experience the Paraplate won't hold a kit after it's been rebuilt, but most I have rebuilt were...

CCTV footage of accident at my wash

Since he damaged your property and left, it's most likely felony hit-and-run assuming he didn't contact you and give you his insurance info. I'm sure you'll have to file a police report, they'll get his info to you, then you can either contact his insurance (if he has any) or take him to court...

    Burnt Up Cat Pump

There's a temperature relief valve you can just screw into one of the inlet ports on the pump. It will dump water on the floor if a tip clogs. FWIW, I've been doing this for 38 years, have run a string of 14 SS car washes for several years, worked ten years at a company with 1800 customers all...

A few more Foam brush questions

If it were mine, I'd just replace the solenoids, but yes you can definitely re-use the MX8 and solenoid for the Flojet.

    Large Vehicle Wash Systems

That's what I did, except I used doubled-up 2 x 12's a full inch lower than the machine clearance. I didn't think it would be necessary until after someone knocked down the clearance bar hanging from chains and wrecked the machine. Cost was some $38,000 just in parts.

Husky vs Harbor Freight small compressor comparison

Update: Motor on the Harbor Freight compressor burned up, just shy of 2000 hours. Unlike most compressors, it has a motor with a known brand name (Marathon Electric). Cost of a new motor of the same brand is about $50 less than a new compressor.

After seeing your work, I'm sure your guys can make a tougher cage, but you can order the machine in one powder-coated in your choice of color.

A few more Foam brush questions

I used to manage a chain of 11 car washes that had FB systems very similar to that, the main differences were that it used a pump for the liquid, each foam generator was recessed into the plywood, and there were only 4 bays of plumbing per 4x8 sheet. It never worked right, I'd spend at least an...

Color Scheme for our Car Wash

I liked 4 at first because of the earthy colors, but I changed my vote to 2 because it really pops. This guy has really done a lot with his theme, even if the building itself is completely plain. Just look at all the local media coverage (free advertisement) he's gotten...

    Jim Coleman Vending Center

If you're looking at a new purchase, I'd stick with individual machines. The single selector box can be confusing to customers, and you'll have proprietary stuff to deal with. If you like the look of the Coleman island, Dralco makes one that holds ten vendors and has a single safe for all the...

A few more Foam brush questions

You have an IDX MX8 controller mounted on the solenoid board which turns the air to the pump off when it's not in use. The Air Logic system doesn't have that (part of why it's so cheap) and it's a good thing to have. Without a controller, the only thing that controls flow is the solenoid to...

A few more Foam brush questions

I mentioned in your other thread, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with your solenoid setup. You can replace your existing pump with a Flojet for $84. Air Logic systems are as basic as it gets, there's no control for the pump and the tank isn't sealed, so you could potentially introduce...

    Ryko/NCS Low ph 3x Foam

It's the cost of the 15 gallon container. They're around $60, while a new 55 gallon drum is only $40.

    Paraplate Regulator

The one I linked is the direct replacement for the Paraplate BR5-2. I only ever use the low pressure spring model for the spot free with a Procon pump.

    New to self serve

There's probably something wrong with the solenoid. Have you checked the voltage when it's not working? There's a good chance some debris has gotten into one of the valves. It could also be getting air from a leak in the inlet plumbing.
