    New Vacuum Islands

Since this is the conveyor section, I am guessing bay concerns are not an option. Still not sure of the "3 foot wide pads." means. So here is a suggestion . Assuming Vacs are next to your east wall as described above. Vacs can be spaced along the wall staring from the entrance at 15'...

    New Vacuum Islands

Sorry, I can't picture your current layout. Does this sound right. Bldg runs from North to south and is 128 feet long at the west side of property and from the east wall of the building to the East side of the property is 73 feet in width? Vacs are currently Parallel to the building. How...

    Hydraulic Leak

Well you could always go low tech and put a stick in the fill opening and measure the height. Might need to pull / uscrew a screen in the filler to do that. Try and measure on 2 differnt days when it's hot. Different temps can change the level slightly. A motor seal at the shaft is a...

    Best place to buy polytube?

I wanted a color in addittion to what I had. Makes troubkle shooting a mess of lines in a trough easier. Windtrax was $58.45 for 500 ft of 3/8" vs $76.94 for Fresh Water systems.

Fluctuating Conveyor Speed and Timing Issues

Once had an electrician tell me nothing is as accurate as having the pulse switch at the sprocket. Then I found out why. At one place the Pulse switch motor is after the conveyor. At certain speeds and loads the conveyor motor may bypass some oil and the remote Pulse switch motor won't and this...

Best way to give away carwashes

Due to cost involved and low redemption rates for direct mail, If you are attended at all I would suggest a coupon that they could bring to your attendant and redeem for the cards or mars coupons or perhaps put an e-mail address on the coupon and you could mail them to whoever sends a request to...

    Best place to buy polytube?

FWIW at $77 a roll for 500' 3/8" it's $3 Cheaper than KR but if you can add it to a free freight order you probably come out ahead.

    Car wash criminals

Not really a SS story but could be. Employee counterfeits discount / free coupons. Substitutes coupons for actual sale or pockets discount.

    Car wash criminals

Owner reaches into bay vault to get $ and feels a "cow udder" hanging down the coin tube. He had given employee key to the meter box to fix jams etc. Employee knew his collection schedule which he changed this date for whatever reason. Employee had periodicaly put a condom over the drop tube...

    foam brush operation and improvements

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlRMAQnwIPw I am a big fan of simple. No Foam Generator. No Needle valve. Liquid and air have plenty of time to mix thru the hose brush handle and brush head.

    foam brush operation and improvements

I hope it is not a Brillo brand pad which would rust over time. It shold be a plastic or copper scrubbie thing or get rid of it all to gether.

    foam brush operation and improvements

If your current regulator won't go above 60 PSI, not that you need to, the regulator may be bad and giving you a bad reading. A. You should not need more than 60 PSI, in fact that can be too much B. Do you use foam generators? Are they gummed up? With foaming stuff sometimes "less is more"...

What water temperature do you run to your self-service bays?

Water at the tank is 120 degrees, from there it goes to the mixing tanks, and from there to Flo Jets or HP Pump. Then to the bays. I don't know what the heat loss is by the time it gets to the nozzle or FB but I would expect it's substantial, and would change radicaly depending on outside temp.

    Water Pressure Issue

More suggestions. I put pre soak on the ar first, before any foaming product. I was at a wash that puts foam on a dry car. So, depending on your set and conditions up this may or may not work. If you initialy have pre soak, turn it off when you can. Make sure the PSI to the Flo Jet and...

Hydra-flex AquaLab MD Issues on New Sonnys Tunnel

When I was at the Sonny's tunnel with 4 different types of dilution systems the owner said the only advantage of the hydro flex was that i saved space. As I noted 6 or more 30-55 Gallon drums crowded around it I commented that while it saves some wall space, you still need room for the...
