How do you value your carwash?

Does that rate somehow value your own labor that needs to be expended?

Need more 411. What is your electrical cost per KWH? Are you getting any subsidies from the government or utilities for the purchase? Do you burn them 24 x365? Only during darkness? Some other factor? A simplified equation would be savig 200W per hour at a cost of 10 cents per KWH saves...

    Phone Systems

OK, color me dense. I don't get it. Ring central phones start at $99 for a 2 line phone and the AT&T phone I linked to is $75.00 has 4 line capability plus I would need to connect 5 extensions to a router which means I have to upgrade / replace the Comcast 4 port router which also handles my...

How cold is cold when not to open the wash?

I never, ever "predict" whether we should open. Except for scheduled repairs requiring shutdown we open every morning. If it's slow the attendant does routine cleanup and fixup. The door is open and cars can be washed if they show up. I am often surprised by the numbers that do. After a...

First and foremost I understand and appreciate your perspective. I just tink it's wrong. Second, some poster a while back referred to the same posters engaging in ****ing contests. I think it is more aquestion of offering different perspectives so readers can consider different ideas. This...

    Updating old wash (credit/debit)

You don't need to change all the bays at once or at all. I just half at first to get a feel for the ROI. It wasn't a reel feel since I have no idea who just switched from cash to CC. Put up signs that said "These Bays Accept Credit Cards". After about a year I decided to do the rest. Have not...

    Air manifold/station?

Here is a video of the tunnel setup. SS is similar. Used Galvanized. The air / water seperator is an auto dump unit from McMaster Carr. Each air feed is T'd with it's own ball valve. (The tunnel has solenoids controlled by the controller or tapeswitch as well) Seperate valves makes for easy...

    FloJet Question

I think it is 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. If you only send electricity to the electrical pump when it is needed the same thing that sends te juice to that pump could open the solenoid that provides air to the pump. No difference in cost or engineering for the setup.

Commonly referred to as Torpedo heaters. I try to get the ones that can use Diesel, not just Kerosene. Get them at the Big Box store. They only do so much.

How cold is cold when not to open the wash?

Washing fairly steady or better at -0-. Supplemental heaters in place as needed. Hot water trickling on lift outs to keep them from freezing as needed. Using my T'd hot and cold water lines to mixing stations and brush feeds have basicaly turned off the cold. Some icicles hanging from some...
