    G&g led

I'll chime back in. Get good cameras that you can actually seem something clear. Then if something happens, post the pics at the wash, to all your local e-mail contacts, and on facebook, and anywhere else close by that will let you. In the past, I have always posted a $50 reward for info...

Who sells LW 4000 Virtual Treadle Eyes?

Check eBay. I got a set there. And Kleen-Rite has a two channel version (versus 4 channel original) that work. I do not have the part # at the moment. Search the original part # at KR and see if that gives it to you. The two channel work just fine.

    WW 1.0 going to long

I had that issue a while back. The rear floor prox had failed. Replaced it, and no more issue. You can manually run it to the rear and it should stop when the prox sees the floor plate. If it keeps trying to go, then that prox has an issue. Either it is bad or the wire is bad or both.

    Speaking of no prep......

Couldn't you put a delay-on-break time delay relay that allows the valve to stay open one or two seconds after pump shuts off? That is a cheap and easy fix, I think. Or you should be able to do it within your plc, I would imagine.

American changer touch pad only works when warm.

You need to replace it. You should keep one on hand. I have seven machines, and I keep two keypads on hand at all times. They all typically get replaced every two-three years. Temporarily, you can heat it with a hair dryer on cold mornings. Be real careful if using a heat gun though, as you...

    Changing to tokens

Sequoia just made a fantastic point. There are those car wash tokens laying in the cup holder or tray, reminding customers to pay your wash a visit soon. There is an advertising value with that alone. What it is worth- I do not know. But every time they glance at the tokens, it should remind...

    Changing to tokens

So Chaz--- then you are in the laundry business, the soda machine business, the candy vending machine business, or whatever business people stop by your machines to get quarters or dollars out--and never use the wash. And I bet there are plenty. Thumbs up to guys that use tokens. I have been...

Pdq tandem - damage to brush due to trailer hitches

Unfortunately, you can not fix stupid people. I have been in this biz since 1992, and I feel the biggest problem everyday is stupid people. Equipment is an easy fix compared to dealing with idiots. That said- I think a recorded message is a great idea if you have a way to do it. I think your...

LW4000 going long at vehicle rear intermittantly

I replace rollers when the edges are worn down enough that it causes too much play in the bridge, and thus it creates issues like you are having. I am sure there is an exact wear down spec somewhere, but I do not know for sure.

LW4000 going long at vehicle rear intermittantly

Have you checked your tires and rollers?? Every time we have this happen, it is a low or flat tire causing the machine to shift a little, which then occasionally causes the mid limit to miss. Then it runs longs. Or a worn roller will cause it to shift a bit. But I would bet on a tire.

At my wits end with tankless water heaters. Need help from those who use them.

Boiler coil--I may not have used the exact term. But it is a spiral, finned copper tubed thingy. It sits in the open tank. A grundfos circulator runs water through it up to the Rinnai. (closed loop). Rinnai heats coil, which in turn heats water. Tank is filled with cold water from a float...

At my wits end with tankless water heaters. Need help from those who use them.

At one of my locations, I use a single 199,000btu Rinnai with a boiler coil on a closed loop with an open 30 gallon storage tank to supply 9 self serve bays. Rinnai set at 160. Holding tank set to maintain 120. No issues. This was previously done by a 700,000btu propane heater. Monthly...

    Dropping merchant fees?

All this kind of reminds me of the Y2K scare. People spent lots of money being scared into buying products, because the World was going to end when the clock stuck January 1, 2000. I spent $0, and had no issues. That is my same plan with this subject.

    Grace for Vets

I do the same as waxman. 9-3 where I can keep them manned. If someone comes by, and can not wait, we give them a coupon for later. A lot of these guys are going to ceremonies, and if we have a long line they can not wait. So they get their free wash either way.

Most that come to my washes already have their id out; they want us to know what branch they were in and they want to tell you a story. Great stuff, for sure!
