We get a bit provincial in this industry because it takes up, in many cases, the majority of our waking hours. The reality is in the grand scheme of credit card processing, we're barely even a tiny part. One of the main reasons we stepped away from having our own credit card system was when we...

    Petit 360i long bay

What's funnier than 42-27? 45-23. At this rate Ryan Day has fallen asleep on third base and needs two more years to hang that 100 on Michigan he promised...................................................................................sorry...............got...

which is better belt or direct

It's a lot of space savings because of the flexibility of how the stand is designed. One of the biggest reasons people are telling us they want the direct drive is for space savings in old equipment rooms that were undersized to begin with. Functionally, I haven't seen a bit of reduction in...

which is better belt or direct

The overwhelming majority of pumpstands(98%+) we have sold over the last 14 years have been direct drive. The modern lovejoy couplings seem to hold up extremely well. I was very skeptical when we first starting designing it as I cut my teeth for over a decade on the belt drives but I'm sold on...

Engineered a new triple foam controller

How much in time and materials did you spend to not have to buy a GS30 from Kleenrite for around $150ish and comes with a two year warranty?

New member! Looking to build a car wash

Simply put, they don't do the numbers to support the cost to build and maintain. Gas station car washes are typically a loss leader for the station and are maintained as such. When I purchased my house 25 years ago there were 15ish gas stations with some sort of attached carwash within a 5 mile...

New member! Looking to build a car wash

This. Not to seem like I'm piling on but you sound like so many before who look at this business from a distance, think it's a license to print money, and get stars in their eyes. As was said, really read as much of this forum as possible. If at all possible get a job at one or more local...

    Who's wash? Thoughts?

Haven't seen that pop up in quite a while. It's probably been 18-20 years since we redesigned the output circuit on the Sensortron. You could do that to any old coin mech with a relay output. We were just the only ones to admit it and actually do something about it.

You rang? That is a reeeeallllyyyy old unit. Obsolete timers, contactors/overload, GS-23 hasn't been around for about 15 years. I believe I talked to the original poster yesterday. I'll repeat what I said then: "Do not fire up the unit without water in the rinse tank. You run the risk of...

Vacuum safety / Is this an industry wide concern?

At the end of the day, you purchased domes that were not in the original design of the vacuum. If they are clearly listed as 24" and the original domes were 20" simple math would tell you you're going to create a 2" gap.

Its was a snarky joke. We were actually making the same point. People can be f***ing moronic.

    Automatic price increase

I've had a bunch of customers dump the cheapest wash and just go with three options with pretty good success. *and* Stop letting your Dad hang around the wash so much. He's probably annoying the customers.....again.

Vacuum safety / Is this an industry wide concern?

You purchased the incorrect part for your model of vacuum. Whoever sold it to you was incorrect and should be contacted and told it's the incorrect one. To claim either is a design flaw is simply not true. Legitimate manufacturers have their vacuums test regularly and then repeatedly...

Vacuum safety / Is this an industry wide concern?

I can't speak of your vacs buy there really isn't anything under the dome that isn't finger safe if you're using the proper products. It appears someone offered you a dome that is not the proper part for your vacuum cans.

Vacuum safety / Is this an industry wide concern?

You left out this part: Not all vacuums were created the same and some parts no longer exist. It's not a matter of "if" the vacuum will need to be replaced but when.......and "when" never gets cheaper. I get calls from people all the time that are spending way too much time and effort looking...

Vacuum safety / Is this an industry wide concern?

That gap is awful from an appearance standpoint, but is not unsafe. There has to be enough of a gap to provide enough air flow to prevent overheating or it will not pass an electrical safety inspection without burning up motors and/or melting poly domes. This kind of thing happens all the time...
