    Ryko softgloss versus Select-A-Wash

The frame of a Select A Wash is very close to that of a Softgloss. The main differences relate to the addition of the 8 high impact nozzle pods mounted at each corner top and bottom of the machine and the presoak manifolds for the touchfree wash. The SAW will carry forward slightly higher...

    Softgloss issue

The speed you are wanting to adjust would be the "wash speed". You could also make a slight adjustment to the flow control for the rear arm return solenoid to allow the arms to open a little sooner. Likely won't take too much to make a significant difference. The key is just not going to far...

    SoftGloss Issue # 2

Steve, each of those 5A breakers supply too many outputs to list on a forum, but they are clearly identified on the electrical schematic. If you look on the output page, those breakers are shown at the top of each column. Many times when you are experiencing one of those breakers tripping, the...

    Ryko Softgloss Back-Up Issue

If you look at the right track near the exit, you will see a black rubber bumper. Mounted to the machine, there are some brackets that are called track stays that basically prevent the machine from flipping over if someone were to hit it because they would grab the bottom of the angle of the...

Select a wash versus soft gloss

That is a REALLY old video, but yes. That is the original Thrust Pro Dryer. There is an updated model that is the OHD (overhead) Thrust Pro dryer that has legs that can extend out against the walls for a more open bay feel. Both of those models do dry extremely well.

Select a wash versus soft gloss

The dryer market is slowly shifting more towards the open bay concept that the Slimline model dryers can provide. With the 3 fan option, their performance is very comparable to the Thrust Pro models that use the follower.

Select a wash versus soft gloss

The Select-A-Wash is a full combo machine that uses a gantry frame very similar to that of a Softgloss, with the addition 8 pods mounted to the frame to provide a high impact touchfree wash using (8) zero degree nozzles. Each pod oscillates up/down and limited movement to forward and backwards...

    Interface C-Start with Softgloss XS

If your Softgloss is 9 years old, it likely has an FX2N PLC installed. If so, you will need to install a Wash Combination Selector, P/N 15903-000 and wire it to the PLC inputs as shown on the electrical schematic in your service manual. The inputs to the wash combo selector come from the relay...

Ryko Softgloss rear brush part name needed

The rear arm clutch solenoid is controlled by PLC output Y56 (wire 256) on all vintages of equipment.

Ryko Softgloss rear brush part name needed

I agree with Steve. Best option is just to convert it over to clutch-less. The P/N's you are looking for is 22133-114 for the right rear retrokit, and 22133-115 for the left rear. You will also want to disconnect the wires for the clutch solenoid valves. You may also be able to get by using...

Hard water for high pressure rinse?

The HI cycle pump is normally plumbed to use either reclaim or fresh water. The RO or soft water are normally only used for the chemical passes on an OHD machine.

Intermittently losing wash on Ryko Maxx with ICS Wash Valet

Usually this is caused by the coinbox sending the arming request to the wash too early. The Softgloss is not ready to receive an arming request until after vehicle detect is satisfied. What this means is that the following need to happen in order. 1. Front tire leaves bayplate. 2. Front tire...

    used friction machine

If you are looking at the machine from the exit end, look up at the frame where the two uprights are for the top brush pivot bearings. The blue serial number plate should be on that left upright as viewed from the exit.

    used friction machine

You can clean the FoamBrite using Dawn dishwashing soap. This would get rid of the dirt. If the are faded, you would need to replace the material if you are concerned about the looks.

    used friction machine

Yes, a SoftGloss can be used with a Hamilton Goldline. If it is 10 years old, it likely has an FX2N PLC installed. This would require the addition of a Wash Combination Selector to receive the arming bits and arm the packages. There will be a setup question for "other arming" that would need...

    Ryko Code 29

I just sent you a drawing to your email account. It sounds like your thermostat is likely bad. It should be onboard the machine under the control cabinet on the right side of the machine.

    Ryko Code 29

I was mistaken on the network temp affecting frost protect blow-down. Is PLC input X57 turned on? If so, there is an external thermostat that goes to that input.

    Ryko Code 29

Steve, your Softgloss was built with the frost protect option, but the frost protect relay is actually K47 which connects to PLC output Y47. On your machine, as it is network arming, there won't be an external thermostat. Most likely you have a temp sensor on the network that has failed...
