    Foam Brush

I recommend daily when someone is really concerned that their water stays soft. It helps to catch it right away. When someone is having issues with hard water at times, the first thing I tell them is to start testing it daily and mark down which tank it's on at the time, helps track down the...

    Truck bay operator question.

That pump is max 1500 PSI. You could run an 08 tip at 1800 PSI with a 5CP2120W at its max RPM. The 5CP6120 is max 7.4 GPM, so you could run a larger tip than 08 at 1500. Length of wand just needs to fit your and your customers' needs. I've seen a wash with 6' wands, kind of ridiculous since...

    Cat vs Arimitsu

    Geez, how old are you?

    Cat vs Arimitsu

I would not, at least not a T1011 or CW2040. Mainly because of the oil leaks, but you really have to keep on top of maintenance or you won't be able to get it apart for service or you'll spend an extra half hour cleaning out all the corrosion or you'll put a seal kit in it and the next day find...

    Cat vs Arimitsu

That certainly doesn't help. I went to a wash just yesterday to replace a broken HP line, and the supply valve was closed way too far which is probably why the hose rubbed through on the floor.

    Self service carpet cleaner [extractor]

I haven't seen an extractor unit in many years. I don't know of any still being made, and there's probably a good reason.

What’s THE most overcomplicated equipment you’ve worked on?

Of course, I said I may try pleated (cartridge) filters and would probably put a sponge filter over it.

    Hamilton coin hopper

Luckily there are still some decent people out there. I left the locks sitting on top of my vendors the other night, and this morning there was the correct amount of money in the drawers for the product missing. It's probably the fifth time I've done that and so far only once did someone take...

What’s THE most overcomplicated equipment you’ve worked on?

I'd probably put a sponge filter like the kind in a shop vac over it and dust them off every day.

    Cat vs Arimitsu

My opinion (so ideally it should not be a source of argument and anyone who does can **** my ****): I don't care about the noise. I grew up in car washes with 620s. Not 623s, so if you know the difference you'll know what that means. I have rebuilt a few Arimitsus and I don't like them. In...

Engineered a new triple foam controller

If you could create an affordable pushbutton controller to replace the rotary switch, I'd buy the hell out of that. Imagine if you will a button control that when you press "STOP" it will also end the credit card count-up. I'd find some large buttons that the function decal could be placed...

What’s THE most overcomplicated equipment you’ve worked on?

The stuff that clogs up my vac bags is the stuff a Thein baffle filter is not good at removing. I have thought about removing the bags in one of my vacs and putting in a couple pleated filters to see if the trash that fills the bags will just settle out.

What’s THE most overcomplicated equipment you’ve worked on?

The cyclone dust extractors cause a huge loss in volume and suction if they work well enough to separate the finest dirt and dust.

What’s THE most overcomplicated equipment you’ve worked on?

Depends on the model. Their basic vacs are simple, but their original vac/fragrance/shampoo with an 8-position 4-stack rotary switch was insane. The switch cost something like $300 and took a couple hours to change with having to cut and remove 53 (Yes, I counted them) zip ties. Of course...

Who are you using for Merchant Accounts

The problem there is that you're limited with a lot of the hardware to using their preferred merchant service. AFAIK the only one that lets you bring your own is Washgear.

    Any Hamilton XE gurus?

It's not difficult enough to warrant a video. You can get kits from Hamilton or Etowah Valley. They both come with very clear instructions. With the Etowah Valley kit you remove the stacker, validator, unbolt the bracket and unplug the heater, install the new bracket, replace the chip in the...

    Gold line

Assuming it's for sure a flashing decimal and not a flashing half-digit, the problem is definitely with both your validators. The Hamilton validators read the bills completely independent of any part of the cashier, and nothing will interfere with that as long as the validator indicates it's...
