    Pur clean ro system question

They wanted $370 for a Parker solenoid I can get for $160, ended up using a DEMA that does the same thing for $70. If I were to buy an IBA unit, I'd track down that guy who does the X-Stream because there are no proprietary components. Belanger uses a standard gearbox, but they have it made...

    Pur clean ro system question

Keep an eye on eBay, I found one of the two for $130, but it was sold out. Wouldn't hurt to contact GC direct, companies that use unusual parts like those tend to have a ridiculous markup for no good reason. D&S and Belanger sell the prox switches and photo eyes for more than double the price...

    I love Pollen!

This is from about ten years ago, the pollen was so heavy it turned the skies greenish yellow.

    Pressure setting

I run 25055 at 1300 PSI. The city doesn't allow car washes to exceed 3 GPM, so when they come around to check I turn the pressure down a bit, then I turn it back up when they're gone. IMO 15° is too narrow. The Kleen-Rite "perfect nozzle" is 32° MEG nozzle, which I think is too dangerous to...

    R.O. help

It's probably flushing. Give it about 15 minutes, the flush solenoid should close and the pressure will come up.

    Tap readers

I've only seen these holds on debit cards. The purpose seems to keep a customer from spending money at your wash which doesn't batch the transaction(s) until the end of the day, but then going somewhere else and spending all their money keeping your processor from pulling yours out of their...

    Fittings leaking

It's definitely good stuff. I bought some regular 1/2" and some 1/4" wide so there's not any tape showing on the bay hose fittings. Three wraps and done.

    Self Serve RV/Boat Wash Question

They usually charge for it, so they go someplace where it's free when they can. That's why a lot of them have the RV to begin with, it's cheaper than traveling in a car and staying at hotels.

It's also important to know what's around you. If all the other IBAs are friction, you might want to consider touchless.

    IDX Tokens

You should be able to find a token that will work and be obscure enough that you won't get tokens that aren't yours, and if you do find a token that isn't yours you can "learn" it to be rejected. There are a lot of things I don't like about IDX acceptors, but they do their base functions very...

    Water Quality/Spot free

You almost always need a spot free system. You test hardness, which even at 1 will leave spots. PPM over 30 will spot.

IDX MA850 madness and tire clean turn on itself

When I last used IDX acceptors, coin jams was the only problem I did NOT have. I still won't ever use them again. I have almost no coin jam problems with Slugbuster II since I removed the coin cups. People kept loading them full of nickels and dimes until it filled the reject path.

IDX MA850 madness and tire clean turn on itself

FWIW I posted a poll and more people voted Sensortron over Slugbuster I. Slugbuster II will take a dollar coin and give a single quarter credit, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. You have to put a screw in it to keep it closed, defeating the whole EZ thing. If someone tries a token...
