Another way to do what with older timers?

21 Y/O, Potential First Car Wash, No RE Experience

I go to San Antonio about once a month, sometimes have the time to stop in at a car wash and check it out. Some of them are like time capsules, nothing has been changed or updated since they were built in the late 70's or early 80's. The functions are the same; tire cleaner weaker than my pee...

    Hamilton GoldLine controller

I have two large plastic bins full of Hamilton parts. I'll try to remember and look through them. Bump your post or PM me if you don't hear back from me soon, I have a terrible memory.

    Change your default Dixmor code

Right, I tried to talk someone through programming a universal remote once but since you have to use channel up buttons to test the codes and he couldn't get the timer into the code entry point, we had no way to figure it out. I got some stills from the video and he's using a Panasonic...

21 Y/O, Potential First Car Wash, No RE Experience

I'm going to assume since you're unable to use quotes properly that you're new to internet forums. You're certainly new to this one. Did you even read the thread? OP (means "the original poster") is asking about buying a self serve with an automatic bay. Your experience appears to be with...

Do you happen to have that video in a format you can send me?

Not at all true. There are scenarios where it can be difficult to make a decent income, but if you know what you're doing it's about the easiest living you can make.

    Change your default Dixmor code

I didn't get to see the video as it had been taken down by the time I got it, so I assumed he used the default code. In any case, anyone can find it out with a quick Google search. I found a full Dixmor setup video on YouTube including how to change the code. He could've gotten the code from...

    Change your default Dixmor code

I just got an email link to a TikTok video where some asshat showed how to set up a universal remote to turn on a Dixmor timer for a free car wash. The video has been taken down, but it had some 50,000 views first. Nearly every car wash I've ever visited has their timers left at the default code.

    Old car washer

Have you considered pulling out the auto and leasing the bay to someone? I know a few people who have done this, and they sometimes have the renter take care of the day-to-day stuff like cleaning and changing a broken hose.

    High pressure soap

Post some pictures. It sounds like you might be using tubing fittings from the tank through the solenoids and to the pumps, and there's an air leak in some of the fittings.

    Best transformer

I use the Impervitran B100MBT713XK, mainly because it's a multitap transformer (Works with 120, 208, 240, or 480 input) so I don't have to carry a bunch of different ones, and it's less than a 100VA from Grainger. Been using them for 20 years and I've never had one fail.

theft device used on Hamilton changers

I'm pretty sure that's how they've always worked. Do you have your changer on a GFI circuit?

Foam Brush Chemical Consumption (To High!!!)

When I was a young attendant at a car wash I had a guy bug me for a good ten minutes to give him some foam brush soap. He wanted to build a home-use foam brush unit.

Foam Brush Chemical Consumption (To High!!!)

I forgot about that possibility. It's not likely with a Coleman Super Saver stand because of how high the tanks are, but that would certainly do it.

    Handy Tool For Carwash

These turned out to be junk, which I should have expected for a WalMart item. Most of the time they don't recharge and indicate they're fully charged with a green light, but instead act like they're always charging, and after a couple uses they both now last about 15 minutes at best on a full...

Possible to repair severely vandalized vacuum meter box?

It is an Adams vacuum. They do sell the box assembly, and it can be bolted on instead of welded. I recommend calling Adams directly to get the right part number, then ordering it from someone (Adams doesn't sell direct).

Foam Brush Chemical Consumption (To High!!!)

A stuck relay might make the pump run, but it wouldn't lose soap. A stuck solenoid in one bay would lose soap while another bay is running, but it would be minimal. The only other plausible thing I can think of would be the Hydrominder hanging open and then self-correcting, or one of your guys...

    Air Valve needed

Use a DEMA 401P 120V. They're easier to wire safely, and Kleen-Rite should have them in stock. Someone just stuck a 120V coil under the cap of the 24V one. FWIW you can remove the plunger from the solenoid and run the system without air control for a weekend rather than have a system down...
