Random Hydrominder Issues, any tips or tricks?

If you have that much trouble with the Hydrominder screens, put a filter on the whole line and change it once a year.

    Question about membrane size

No, that's just someone rounding up. I've never had any trouble with them that was a flaw in the membrane. I've sold and installed hundreds of them and I know they're good. I don't like to take chances on cheap stuff, especially with Kleen-Rite who will not back the product.

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

Three reasons. One is that I can run the wax much stronger without using more. The customer perception is better because at high pressure it barely foams, but at low pressure with air it foams a lot and coats better. Last is that I want to run high pressure soap, and the easiest way to have...

    Foam Brush Hose

They must last a long time since all their hose is now made under Continental.

    Cordless Dremel recommendation

FWIW I keep my corded Dremel in my service vehicle, along with two 100' extension cords. As infrequently as I use the Dremel, the batteries would all be dead when I need it. If I were to buy a cordless one, I'd probably stick with Dremel brand. I've never used a cordless one.

    Silver how often?

As of today, a silver quarter is worth $4.43 just in its silver content. The one OP shows would be worth about $15 to a coin collector since it's in such good condition.

    Foam Brush Hose

https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-2341-kuriyama-kuri-tech-blue-polyflex-3-8-hose-250-psi.aspx This stuff is great, except you may never get it from Kleen-Rite. I've ordered it twice, and they just never get it to me. From what I was told, I believe they order Kuriyama hose maybe once a year...

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

Not necessarily, the problem usually comes from using tire cleaner/presoak then going to a high pressure function and then running out of time, or there being a 2-second delay for the spot free pump coming on. Pressure and some chemical stays trapped behind the tire/presoak check valve and it...

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

The Teflon seal doesn't...

No BUG Remover/Presoak/ Tire Cleaner getting to wand

No. Need more info about your equipment, but it could be anything from an electrical problem to a bad solenoid.

No BUG Remover/Presoak/ Tire Cleaner getting to wand

You should find and replace the check valve anyway. The problem will almost certainly return.

    Valuation help

No cheap soap or utilities, and I had to hire a guy to clean. Did 60% my best month last year, just a really busy 6-bay. My point is you can absolutely do 70% if everything is right.

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

There will still be separate air solenoids and adjustments, just one line which I'd have to split. I'll probably just build one of each type and see which does best. I cringe every time I see a customer get a burst of tire cleaner when they want spot free which ends up on their car, which is...

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

It may not make a difference in foaming since the products I use all foam well, but I've seen washes where one or more product spits and sputters instead of a steady flow of foam. Maybe that's been bad product.

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

I was more hoping someone else has gone through this before and tried the different setups, but if no one replies as such I'll just have to do it myself.

Thoughts on check valves at the booms

I plan on switching wax from high pressure to low pressure for reasons. Right now I have tire cleaner, presoak, and air all going through the same check valve. I want wax to be able to run up to 150 PSI so I'm anticipating problems if I just add another tubing line to the existing valve. Here...

    Leaking solenoid valve.

You can fix it, but you'll eventually have to replace it. A Dema 473P is 3/8" pipe thread, a Dema 474P is 1/2". They have a stainless seat insert so they won't wash out like that. If you want to try and fix it, get a 1/4" bolt, nut, and fender washer, sandwich some emery cloth under the bolt...

    My passes make sense?

It's definitely easy to let a few bad people ruin things for you. I met a super nice lady last night and really enjoyed talking to her for a few minutes. Put me in a good mood for the rest of the evening.

Random Hydrominder Issues, any tips or tricks?

Make sure there is a hole in each discharge tube in the tank below the ring inside the hose and above the mixed chemical. This is to make sure if the foot valve fails it doesn't siphon the mix back into the bucket. I remove the metal "clamp" at the foot valve and use a zip tie instead. I...
