    Foam Brush Hose

Stainless fittings will more than double the cost of the hose assembly. The regular steel fittings already outlast the life of the hose, so it would be a waste of money.

    Flo-Jet 5100 Question

There are three kits for those to fully rebuild it. The Viton diaphragm kit and the shuttle valve kit are almost $80. FWIW I just replace them, and I recommend tightening the screws before installing.

Random Hydrominder Issues, any tips or tricks?

That's why I put a 1" whole house filter on the line. As long as it doesn't freeze, they don't fail. We had one wash where the distribution tube in one of the softeners split - you can imagine the many hours of cleaning resin and gravel out of the pumps and valves it saved me.

    Cryptopay is TRASH

Don't you go through Worldpay to issue a refund? I don't have first-hand with their site, but I keep reading here that you have to jump through many hoops just to get logged in, then it resets in a month and you have to go through it all over.

    Spam calls

I've heard the same. I know two women who have fallen for these scams, both intelligent, educated, one with a doctorate. One was an IRS scam that said to buy $1500 worth of iTunes cards and to text pictures of the numbers. The other was a long lost "cousin" stuck in jail out of the country...

    Foam Brush Hose

If you order crimped fittings on both ends, a black hose guard, and specify Continental brand hose, it should last at least a couple years.

    Foam Brush Hose

    That's not push-lock hose. It's regular nylon-reinforced PVC hose.

Random Hydrominder Issues, any tips or tricks?

The one time I had issues was getting clogged with some soft green stuff out of the water heater.

It never gave me any trouble after cutting out the screen.

    Facebook Pages for Car Washes?

FWIW I'm much more concerned with being a presence on Google. Hundreds of people a month get directions to my wash just from people asking their phone "car wash near me."

    Foam Brush Hose

You have to use push-lock hose and push-lock fittings together. It will hold and not leak.

    Foam Brush Hose

For what you'd spend on ten reusable fittings (Which are usually not reusable) you could buy the tool. The ferrules are about 50¢ apiece. I know a guy who uses them, and he crimps the hose with ferrules right over the Flojet plastic barbs.

Random Hydrominder Issues, any tips or tricks?

Same here. One day I put a new Hydrominder in the soap tank at a wash I used to run. It was on hot water and the screen clogged up some time during a busy Saturday. I cleaned it and it was clogged again the next evening, so I just cut it out. The old unit had no screen.

    Changer woes

Not with Hamilton. I have a DRS and haven't done a thing to it in three years other than change the payout switches.

    Facebook Pages for Car Washes?

Definitely good for marketing. You can pay to have your page displayed on other people's Facebook pages. A catchy profile picture makes a huge difference. People will like a page just for the profile pic, which gets seen by all their friends. No real negatives I'm aware of since any negative...

    Cordless Dremel recommendation

I've gotten a bunch of Ridgid tools and batteries. One of them has Bluetooth, and I can use their app on my phone to check the condition of all my Bluetooth-enabled batteries that are in range. I'm just not ready to spend $150+ apiece on batteries.

    Bad reviews/entitled customers

I don't remember that one, but I do remember a story from here about a trash dumper. The car wash owner dug through and found several pieces of mail with a name and address, so he called the police. The cop went to the guy's house who told the cop the trash was stolen, so the cop couldn't do...
