    Programmable Relay or PLC

Yeah...they've been rebuilt and replaced several times. The issue reoccurs with enough frequency that I'm resigned to keep the wands on water weep. Alternative designs involve time and expense that is unjustifiable, in my mind. Sad, because I've got a doozy of a PLR program that I'm just...

Looking for a low cost Temperature Control Switch?

Looking for a low cost Temperature Control Switch? I bought a few of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281294885235?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT They’re well-constructed and amazingly accurate. They can be used for heating or cooling with Differential setting of up...

    Programmable Relay or PLC

wash4me, You're gonna want the delay...at least 2 seconds. Otherwise, the washer fluid pump will trigger after every rotary switch make/break. My washer fluid consumption dropped significantly after I added the On Delays to my program. What's kept me from installing it on my wands is my spot...

    Floor heat leaking antifreeze

http://www.fixaleak.com/ This stuff has worked for several operators...including me. It may be a temporary solution but mine hasn't leaked in two years. Check with a local pool and spa supply house for the purchase.

Looking for a good needle valve

I've used SMC's "speed control" for various applications, including weep water adjustment. They've served me well. http://www.smcusa.com/top-navigation/cad-models.aspx/22276 I'm pretty sure John Guest's versions work just as well.

New LED lights in the parking lot

With Dusk-to-Dawn + 1 hour per day, that's still about 10 years of life expectancy.

Yep, All off my local "stocking" distributors are singing the same tune. Oh, well...it's too busy to be doing any "upgrades" anyway.

American token changer looking to add Credit card to it ???

I've been accepting credit cards in the bays for over a decade. Initially, CC usage was disappointing. This year's credit sales are approaching 65% of total income! I can't imagine operating as cash only.

    weep output

MEP001, Except for Mondays, Wednesday's and Fridays in the summer, I don't have that issue. However, I frequently had to deal with stuff like that when I was in the sales and service side. Adding a touchless IBA to an existing self serve without additional water supply...could drive you crazy...

    weep output

Physics…That “path of least resistance” thing. Regeneration back flush and rinse cycles flow significant volume to drain, reducing downstream pressure and volume. Any facility operating on “barely sufficient” water service will experience pressure and volume reduction to any simultaneously...

    Water Softener salt tank

The 2nd step in the regeneration process is called "brine draw". This is where the fully saturated water in the tank is sucked or pumped into the resin tank. Fleck systems typically draw 100% of the brine from the tank followed by a refill with fresh water later in the regen process. Short...

    Cat 3535 problem???

As evidenced by the lip and garter spring, the crankcase oil seals are intended to keep oil IN the crankcase, not keep water OUT. Keeping water out of the crankcase is the responsibility of the low pressure seals, the V-packing, and the plunger O-rings and back-up rings. Cracked plungers or...

Hard water for high pressure rinse?

Based on my understanding of your issue, I believe your water softener system is being seriously overdosed and under-rinsed. A pallet of salt (63 bags @ 40 lbs) will effectively soften 403,200 gallons of 25 grain water. That’s 13,400 gallons of water per day! (403,200 gal. / 30 days) Using 80...

CAT 310 pulsating, but not all the normal problems.

With a pressure fed cold water system, there has to be a check valve on the hot water feed to prevent cold water flow into the tank. Maybe that check valve is stuck or installed backwards? With the system idle, disconnect the hot water supply hose at the pump and view the volume of water. If...

    Vac time and price

My experience is comparable to MEP001’s. But only after losing those POS Mark VII Designer Vacuums. My IVS 3-motor vacs are approaching 22 years old now. I found the key to reliability and longevity is to “salt” the vacuums with about $10 in spare change each week. My attendants used to...

    Vac time and price

$2 for 6 minutes... However, I like $1 for 3 minutes better. Especially when customers pay with quarters. I'm at $1/3min with $1 & quarter acceptors and display timers with 30 seconds of "grace time". Works good for me. Customers frequently add another quarter for that additional 45 seconds of...

Issue when customer starts with HP soap or Presoak - Pump makes a racket!

Remove the pump's soap inlet fitting and replace it with a plug. Run the pump. If the issue is resolved, you've got an air leak in the soap supply. Air leaks are sneaky...they don't always drip.
