Soap in warm water Rinse Tank?

You've likely got one or more leaking weep system check valves. High pressure soap and wax is pushing by the CV and you're seeing it in the rinse tank.

    Automatic hot water?

Dilution Ratio Temperature Water hardness Time Friction My “old school” experience tells me that elimination of one component of the equation requires increasing all the remaining components. For example: Blending chemicals with hard water requires twice the dilution ratio while applying heat...

    weep system for GinSan

I was going to mention that...until I remembered how many devices in my engine room that are secured by nylon zip ties.

    Liquid Level Float Switch

I've used Madison floats for years and found them to be quite reliable. If your Madison float switch is directly energizing the solenoid valve's coil, the contacts are probably burning up due to excessive load. A resolution would be to use the float switch to energize the coil of an "ice cube"...

Build selfserve pump stand with injectors instead of hydrominders and tanks

I believe you will find that injectors only function at 200psi or less...so, downstream installation will be a no-go.

Residual soap during HP rinse in SS bays

I think the stuff I used was around $2.65/ft in 20’ lengths. 3/8” compression unions can be had for around $13.95/ea 3/8” tube x 3/8” MPT compression couplings are about $9.50/ea. A sweet installation will have uni-strut and cushion clamps to keep everything neat. Run the SS tubing to about 3’...

Residual soap during HP rinse in SS bays

We used to sell “wax timers”. When rinse is selected, the timer would energize the bay’s wax solenoid for a few seconds. This cost the operator about $35 per bay and would extend the useful life of the bay supply hoses for several years. Then, we started recommending and installing stainless...

Credit and debit card start up charge

I went to $1/min last December. With Count Down timers. $3.00 to start cash $5.00 to start credit Additional time is $1 per "button push". Vacs are $1.00/3 min. Total revenue is up 37.8% over same YTD. 62% of revenue is credit! It just shows up in my bank account. Wheeee!

Honeywell ignition module has me baffled

Turns out the ignition module was failing...it failed completely yesterday afternoon. A new module solved the problem. 2Biz, since I'm a "short timer" the expense of a new water heating system is not justifiable.

Honeywell ignition module has me baffled

The Raypak water heating boiler maintains 110*F 24/7/365. The facility enjoys no significant business during the night time hours. And, during inclement weather…bleh. So, I installed a PLR that turns off the boiler circulator whenever all bays are idle for more than 10 minutes. The boiler...

    Best Coin Acceptor?

I suspect coins are not seeing a clear path to the collection box/safe. This could be a result of misalignment of the acceptor’s coin outlet with the safe’s inlet. I have experienced this with meter boxes that have tight clearance or misalignment from the bottom of the acceptor to the safe’s...

    Future of Car wash

Since the average age of light vehicles in the USA is 11.4 years and continues to increase, it will be at least a decade after it's proven, adopted and widely implemented. That is unless the gubmint adopts a "Cash for Clunkers" type program to rid the streets of non-self-cleaning vehicles! But...

    Best Heat tape for trough!!!

So...what are you saying about me? FYI...this is what I'm considering: http://www.thermoworks.com/products/logger/index-studiotest.php Looks like that Smartphone temperature monitoring concept is reality.

    Best Heat tape for trough!!!

Thanks for the link and the snapshot. I assume you've "extended" the sensor wires to achieve the 20' spacing? And, yes...your KISS approach is great way to go, and MUCH cheaper than mine. But what fun is having a computer in the engine room without having it "All Dolled Up"? ;)

    Best Heat tape for trough!!!

Tell more about your electronic heat sensor "system". I'm looking to add a USB Temperature Probe to my plumbing trough so I can read the temp on my PC desktop. About $50 for one Sensor, plus the USB extension cable.

Bill changer - American Changer AC1005-2221 Series

The counter reading is the total value of notes accepted. If yesterday's reading was 105991 and today's reading is 106857, there should be $866.00 in the bill stacker. Count the $1s and $5s and log the totals on your list.

Feedback & Complaints - How do you guys post contact info?

Post your Google Voice phone number on each meterbox, bill changer, vending machine, and bay sign. (Those Brother Label Maker machines come in handy here.) A simply worded label works fine: “TROUBLE? Call ###-###-####” Some cool things about Google Voice: If you have partners/attendants...
