Best Salt Brand for Water Softener

Coach, I suspect you’re softener was improperly set up resulting in overdosing and or too frequent regeneration. A cubic foot of standard resin can be regenerated to 75% of its capacity with 6 pounds of salt. The remaining 25% requires nearly 12 more pounds of salt. Its extremely inefficient to...

Best Salt Brand for Water Softener

Cargill owns Diamond Crystal. And, it seems that Home Depot has the market...at least in my area. My closest location has nearly 300 bags in stock @ $4.03/40#. I’d be surprised if you couldn’t purchase a pallet load and have HD deliver it.

Looking for a simple alarm system

Not sure about your timed arm/disarm requirement, but here's a link to X10. I used X10 plug-in modules for home automation in 6 different homes...starting in the 1970s. Can't vouch for them now but they were the "cat's meow" in the 20th century. https://www.x10.com/

    Foam brush repair

OMG! The 1980s called. They want their FB system back. That’s going to continue to be a nightmare no matter how much time and money you spend on it. There must be a motorized pump somewhere in the system (motor contactors) and that tank is a well pump bladder tank...used to prevent the pump...

I like this one. https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/Watts-0559116-Product_Overview.pdf I installed it on my home's DHW system last year. The boiler heats the indirect water tank to 150F. The mixing valve supplies 120F water to the faucets. (yeah...I'm a little...

    Water mixing valve issue

Most TF membranes are ok up to about 113F. Beyond that...they might deteriorate quickly. 77F is the optimum operating temp. Colder water incrementally reduces output. Reliable tempering valves can be expensive. Supplyhouse.com is a good source

    Low Pressure irregularities between bays

I believe additional site info is needed: How are these products delivered to the customer? High pressure gun or low pressure gun? Are there check valves in the system? My first troubleshooting step would be to disconnect the liquid lines from the solenoid outlet fitting and install short...

    Softener Brine Tank Issue?

Municipal water districts often have multiple sources. This is the time of year when many districts change sources which can impact hardness. Test your raw water to see if it has increased hardness. If so then you'll need to modify your softener's settings.

It's a Quincy piston. I was just inquiring if anyone had experience that would lean me to choose RP vs. Quin-Cip. FWIW, I've used Royal Purple in BIG BOX compressors in the past with excellent results. However, Quincy recommends and provides additional warranty coverage when Quin-Cip in used in...
