    Are customers getting dumber?

It wasn't meant to be a documentary, but life has imitated art to the point that the movie is pretty accurate.

Retro fit or buy 3/5 column electric vendor

The 3-column will let you add more variety and let you fill them less often, but IMO six different items is plenty and the 3-column are a little harder to load.

    Low pressure spot free rinse

Has to be a flow restriction, solenoids or check valves, possibly undersized lines to the bays.

    Are customers getting dumber?

I tell people that all the time. I have yet to hear any witty retort to it.

Doyle vacuums with pleated cartridge filters

Something to vibrate the pleated filters after each use might keep them clean.

    Adding spot free

I like the GC high pressure stainless valves in 3/8", part # GC S401-24 from Dultmeier. They're full flow so you'll get maximum pressure to the bay. For a lot less money and minimal pressure drop across the solenoid you can use Kip solenoids that are rated for 250 PSI. You can only get then...

    Adding spot free

I use a Dayton motor, they last ten years or more. G0338274 from Zoro with a coupon is best price. 1X408, 4X179, 5X401 are the three parts to the coupler from Grainger, PP2507X and PPA10481C is the pump and bell housing from Kleen-Rite. You can run this combo up to 225 in the bays with a...

Doyle vacuums with pleated cartridge filters

I did that once. Not only did it ruin the bags (the fine dust went right through them), I felt bad for the horribly nasty mess it left in the machine even after I ran it again empty to try and clean it.

Slug Buster II, Microcoin QL, or IDX

IDX was great 20 years ago, then I couldn't get them repaired properly. Microcoin QL also used to be excellent, but the new ones I bought about four years ago have all been jamming frequently for no obvious reason, and the plastic frame parts are all broken because people will beat on them. If...

Doyle vacuums with pleated cartridge filters

I've considered making an adaptor to put the pleated filters in a vac to see how they do. I feel like they will need more routine cleaning than the cloth bags. Right now I have the JE Adams bags with the spring-type ring that locks into the opening. The material is thinner than most, doesn't...

    Carpet shampoo issue

In your picture you have the liquid going through the spot remover pump. That pump has smaller rollers meant for the thicker wall tubing. You might try swapping the roller from the bottom pump. There's a retainer that you can spread a little then pop to the back, then it slips right off the...

    Carpet shampoo issue

What's the history? Did it work at some point and then quit working? Maybe try blowing air through the chemical line. Does any air come out through the brush?

    Carpet shampoo issue

With a fragrance machine it would, but with a shampoo unit the air shouldn't be able to get back through the pump. I suspect either the rollers or the tubing in one of the pumps is the wrong size.

    Carpet shampoo issue

The tubes in the pumps are different inside diameter with the spot remover being smaller. Normally the rollers keep the tube pinched 100% and prevent backflow. Did you fr use the correct tubing and put them in the correct pumps?

I have these on my D&S pump stand. Can someone tell me what they are called?

I assume that's an adjuster out of one of your solenoids? I've never seen anything like that, but I would assume it serves some purpose. It's obviously not there causing your problem, because the fluid flows under the pointy end and not through that hole.
