    High Employee Turnover

I have never hired anyone on a strictly hourly basis. I always give them a hourly wage and a chance to make more if certain goals are met. For car wash or detail employees I figure out what my beakeven point is and let my employees know. Then depending on the position I give them a bonus of 5 or...

    RO Reject into City Water?

In my area the water hardness starts at 20 grains or around 2000 parts per millon of disolved solids. When I run it through a softner it drops to 200 PPM. The RO water uses soft water and so the reject water from the RO may be up to 400 to 600 ppm. When I add this into my automatic rinse water...

    Complimentary Towel Dry Station

When you buy new towels they are coated with sizing that is used as lubrication during the manufacturing process to prevent the cotton from catching fire from the friction of high speed manufacturing. Very hot water is required is required to remove the sizing. I often run a hose direct from my...

I love you Kleen Rite, so...

I like Kleenrite and their prices. It is funny to see a bunch of us carwashers sit around and bash them for not updating to the newest latest technology every year or even more often. We as a group are probably some of the biggest offenders to not updating every peice of equipment each time a...

    Green Algae growing on concrete?

It is pretty easy to sprinkle on some granulate chlorine that they use for hot tubs and swimming pools. I do it at night and it sits around on the surface slowly disolving. Has a longer lasting effect compared to liquids IMO.

    Drop Security Monitoring?

I bought some GE simon alarm systems a few years back for around $200 each. I put one at each location and set it up to dial my cellphone if they ever get tripped. Utilize the In-Bay Dryers for Self Serve

If I were going to do a air dry in the auto I think I would add a spot free rinse cycle to the package and charge $2 for the combo.

    2011 Equipment Sales

PDQ and Belanger are probably the 2 biggest suppliers of touchless equipment IMO. I think the survey would therefore favor the reporting of friction machines taking over when that may not be the case. Ryko is probably the largest friction machine supplier and they reported in the ICA survey.

    Wall Paneling

I find that the farm tech panels clean a little easier than my FRP panels. I left mine 4 foot wide. I used the metal V strips they sell between the panels. I had the metal strips powder coated white before using them. It has worked out well for me.

    Compact Dispensing Hopper

At the ICA show I was looking for exactly what you are. I already purchased the Hamilton token vendor for 2 of my GOldline units. I had to also upgrade the controller on each unit so it was a fairly expensive upgrade. ($2600 each) I looked at a unit made by american changer. It is a bit smaller...

    Our new Kondor Install!!!

The wash looks good. I think the side undercar sprayers might help remove heavy mud on some vehicles. The only thing I saw that I did not like was that it could not really size a car for width. In my experience people usually drive into a open bay like that and end up shifted to the left hand...
